Do you have a question about the Total TACLI2001 and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The TOTAL TACLI2001 is a 20V battery-operated air compressor designed for inflating car, motorcycle, and bicycle tires, as well as balls, air mattresses, and pool floats. It is part of TOTAL's "One-Stop Tools Station" line, emphasizing its integration within a broader ecosystem of tools.

Function Description:

The device operates as a portable air compressor, utilizing a 20V battery (TOTAL 20VMAX SHARE system) to generate compressed air for inflation. It features a trigger for activation and a digital caliper for precise pressure measurement. The inflator comes with various adapters, including a ball adapter, an adapter for inflatables, and a tire valve adapter, making it versatile for different inflation needs. The air hose connects directly to the item to be inflated, and pressure can be selected in Bar, kPa, or Psi.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Power: 20V DC
  • Measuring Range: Max: 150 PSI / 10 BAR / 1000 KPA
  • Measurement Accuracy: ±1 Psi at 25°C
  • Hose Length: 40 cm
  • Velocity: 3200/min
  • Flow Rate: 12L/min
  • Change Unit: 1 bar = 100 KPa / 1 psi = 6.89 KPa

Usage Features:

  • Work Area Safety: Users are advised to keep the work area clean, well-lit, and free from flammable materials. Children and unauthorized persons should be kept away.
  • Electrical Safety: The charger plugs must match the outlet, and modifications are prohibited. Contact with grounded surfaces should be avoided. The tool should not be exposed to rain or wet conditions, and the cable should be kept away from heat or oil.
  • Personal Security: Users should remain alert, avoid using the tool when tired or under the influence of substances, and wear personal protective equipment such as eye protection, dust masks, non-slip safety shoes, hard hats, or hearing protection. Loose clothing or jewelry should be avoided. The tool should be in the off position before connecting the battery.
  • Battery Tool Use and Care: Only the manufacturer-specified charger should be used for recharging. The tool should only be used with specifically designated batteries. Batteries not in use should be kept away from other metal objects to prevent shorting. Contact with battery liquid should be avoided, and if contact occurs, the affected area should be rinsed with water, and medical help sought if necessary. Damaged or modified batteries or tools should not be used. Batteries or tools should not be exposed to fire or excessive heat (above 130°C). All charging instructions must be followed, and charging should occur within the specified temperature range.
  • Specific Safety Instructions for Tire Inflator:
    • Inspect the tire inflator before each use for any bent, broken, burned, melted, wet, or damaged components.
    • Check tire pressure before inflating to avoid over-inflation and bursting.
    • Not suitable for high-pressure tires used on commercial, agricultural, or specialty vehicles.
    • Avoid kinking or blocking the air hose while the inflator is running.
    • Do not use the inflator when the vehicle is in motion.
    • Not designed for continuous use; prolonged operation (over 30 minutes) can cause overheating and damage. A 15-minute cool-down period is recommended after 10 minutes of use.
    • If abnormal sounds or high temperatures occur, turn off the unit immediately and let it cool for at least 30 minutes.
    • Do not leave the inflator unlocked or within reach of children during operation.
    • Store in a cool, dry, dust-free place, away from direct heat or sunlight.
    • Do not use in or near flammable environments.
    • Only use supplied adapters.
    • The tire inflator is not waterproof.
    • Ensure cables and hoses do not interfere with vehicle operation.
    • Avoid putting connectors and adapters in the mouth, ear, or eye due to risk of serious injury.
    • The inflator contains no user-serviceable parts; do not open and contact an official Total distributor for repairs.
    • Follow instructions carefully to prevent injury.
  • Charger Safety: Read all instructions and cautionary markings on the charger and battery pack before use. Charge batteries indoors only. Do not insert cracked or damaged battery packs into the charger. Prevent liquid contact with the charger. Use only the supplied charger with the designated batteries. Do not pull the power cord to unplug. If the charger is damaged, take it to an authorized service center. Do not disassemble the charger. Unplug the charger from the power source before cleaning.
  • Inflation Process:
    • Uncoil the entire air hose.
    • Insert the appropriate adapter into the tool.
    • Remove the tire valve cap.
    • Plug the valve tip of the air hose directly into the tire's air valve.
    • Press the lever down to lock it firmly.
    • Press to select the desired gauge measurement (Bar, kPa, or Psi).
    • Press the trigger to inflate to the proper pressure level.
    • Refer to the manufacturer's specifications for correct tire pressures (usually found in the vehicle manual, on the door pillar, or inside the fuel filler cap).
  • Accessory Storage: Adapters can be stored in the storage area on the back of the inflator (2) when not in use.

Maintenance Features:

  • General Maintenance:
    • Always remove the battery pack before assembling parts, making adjustments, cleaning, or when not in use.
    • The power tool does not require intensive maintenance, but ventilation slots in the motor housing must be kept clean.
    • If the unit becomes defective, repairs must be carried out by an official dealer.
    • Ensure the battery is always securely attached.
    • Keep the battery clean and dry, and store the charger in a dry room. Remove any corrosion from charging terminals.
    • Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts.
  • Cleaning:
    • Clean the inflator only with a clean, dry cloth.
    • Do not use cleaning products.
    • Ensure the inflator is free of dust or other debris before connecting it.
  • Spare Parts: When performing maintenance, use only original spare parts. Using non-genuine parts can create hazards or damage the product.
  • Personal Protective Equipment: Always wear eye protection with side shields during maintenance to comply with regulations and prevent injury.

Environmental Considerations:

  • Electrical appliances should not be disposed of as unsorted municipal waste; use separate collection facilities.
  • Contact local authorities for information on available collection systems.
  • Improper disposal of electrical appliances in landfills can lead to hazardous substances seeping into groundwater, harming health and well-being.
  • Recycle raw materials instead of disposing of them as waste.
  • The machine, accessories, and packaging must be sorted for environmentally friendly recycling.

Additional Warnings:

  • Other Risks: Even with prescribed use, residual risks remain, including health defects from vibration emission (if used for prolonged periods or improperly maintained) and injuries/property damage from sudden fixture breakage.
  • Electromagnetic Field: The tool produces an electromagnetic field that may interfere with active or passive medical implants. Individuals with medical implants should consult their physician before use.
  • Humidity: The machine must not be damp and should not be used in humid environments.
  • Bursting Risk: Do not adjust the regulator to exceed the maximum pressure marked on the accessory. Do not use at pressures above 150 PSI.
