ADDITIONAL SERVICE REQUIREMENTS
How and where you drive your Prius determines the service
requirements as much as the time or distance travelled. For example, if
you are regularly towing heavy loads or driving in rough conditions,
then more regular maintenance is necessary. Discuss the typical sort of
driving you'll be doing with your Toyota Prius Service Advisor, they will
advise how best to maintain your vehicle to keep it performing at its
best.
If you're mostly driving your Prius on sealed roads in moderate
conditions, then you'll only need to service it according to the
Maintenance Schedule. If you consistently put your Prius through
extreme conditions or drive in harsh environments, then your Prius will
require the extra maintenance as described in Additional Service
Schedule.
These conditions could include any or all of the following:
• Driving on rough, muddy or snow-melted roads
• Driving on dusty roads
• Using a car top carrier
• Repeated short trips, less than 8 kilometres, in freezing conditions
• Extensive low speed driving for long distance, such as taxis,
couriers, etc.
• Continuous high speed driving (at speeds greater than 140 km/h)
for over 2 hours.
