1-2. Opening, closing and locking the doors

CAUTION
n Operating the power back door
l Check to make sure that passengers do not have any part of their body in
a position where it could be caught or hit when the back door is being
operated.
l Careful attention is needed so as not to get your fingers trapped as the
back door automatically closes when it has not been fully closed.
l Do not allow children to operate the back door.
Closing the back door on someone can cause serious injury, and in some
instances, even death.
n Jam protection function (vehicles with power back door)
l Never try jamming any part of your body to activate the jam protection
function intentionally.
l The jam protection function may not work if something gets caught just
before the back door is fully closed.
NOTICE
n To prevent damage to the back door components
l Do not apply any force or paint or let any other foreign matter collect on
the damper.
l Do not apply excessive force when the back door closer is operating.
l Make sure there is nothing in the doorway before closing.
