USE AND CARE INSTRUCTIONS
USING YOUR ALUMINUM FRY PAN
Before using your pan for the first time, hand-wash with warm soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly, then season
by lightly rubbing cooking oil onto the interior surface and heating the pan over medium heat for two to three
minutes. When cool, hand-wash in warm, soapy water then rinse and dry thoroughly.
Do not use nonstick aerosol cooking sprays in your pan. They will leave a residue, which may be difficult to
remove, and will cause foods to stick to the pan.
To preserve the look and performance of your pan, we recommend using silicone, nylon, bamboo or wood utensils
when cooking. Regardless of how hard the cooking surface is, using metal utensils or sharp objects may damage
the cooking surface over time and void the warranty.
• Cook using low to medium heat only. Since aluminum yields excellent conductivity and delivers even heat
distribution, the usage of high heat is not necessary. In fact, the use of high heat can permanently discolor and
damage your pan and void the warranty.
Keep the pan on the burner only during the necessary time for cooking or boiling. Do not overheat an empty pan.
Your pan is oven-safe.
500°F (260°C) – For use without silicone grip
400°F (204°C) – For use with silicone grip.
Always use oven mitts when handling a hot pan.
Avoid sudden temperature changes such as immersing hot pan in cold water. Always let the pan cool before washing.
When using your pan on ceramic glass stovetops, always lift (do not slide) to move to avoid scratching the cooktop.
This commercial grade pan was developed for general use on conventional cooktops as identified
by the cooktop icons. However, due to the exterior satin finish of the pan, certain cooktops,
especially ceramic glass, may require special handling/care when using this pan. To avoid damage/scratches on
ceramic/glass cooktops (when applicable), we recommend to read your appliance’s Use and Care instructions
prior to using this pan.
CLEANING AND CARING FOR YOUR ALUMINUM FRY PAN
Interior Cleaning: The nonstick cooking surface on your pan ensures easy cleanup with just soap and water.
Should burnt grease or food residue collect on the surface, it can usually be removed with warm water and a mild
detergent. For extreme cases, residue can be removed with a thorough cleaning using Soft Scrub
®
. Do not use
abrasive cleansers, steel wool or coarse scouring pads.
Discoloring on pan and/or handle will not affect performance. Stains may be lightened by gently rubbing surface
with Bon Ami
®
or baking soda and a damp cloth. Commercial cleansers are not recommended.
Your pan is dishwasher-safe. However, natural aluminum will discolor when placed in a dishwasher. We recommend
hand-washing and drying to optimize the life, performance, and beauty of the interior and exterior finishes. Exterior
discoloration does not affect the performance of the pan.
Remember to remove the silicone grip from handle
before washing so that both may be cleaned thoroughly. Make sure handle and the inside of grip are
completely dry and free of cooking grease or any other type of residue before reinserting grip onto handle.

Overview

This document provides comprehensive use and care instructions for the Tramontina Professional Nonstick Fry Pan, a versatile cooking utensil designed for both home and commercial kitchens. The pan is crafted from aluminum, known for its excellent heat conductivity and even heat distribution, which makes it suitable for a variety of cooking tasks.

Function Description:

The Tramontina Professional Nonstick Fry Pan is primarily designed for cooking food on stovetops and is also oven-safe. Its nonstick interior surface facilitates easy food release and simplifies cleanup. The pan is intended for general use, accommodating various cooking methods that require frying, sautéing, or simmering. The design emphasizes efficient heat transfer, allowing users to cook effectively with low to medium heat settings, thereby conserving energy and preventing potential damage to the pan. The pan is equipped with a handle, which may include a removable silicone grip, enhancing user comfort and safety when handling hot cookware. The overall construction aims to provide a durable and reliable cooking experience, suitable for everyday use.

Usage Features:

Before its initial use, the pan requires a simple seasoning process: hand-washing with warm soapy water, rinsing, drying, lightly rubbing cooking oil onto the interior, heating over medium heat for two to three minutes, cooling, and then a final hand-wash. This initial seasoning helps optimize the nonstick performance.

A crucial usage guideline is to avoid nonstick aerosol cooking sprays, as they can leave a residue that impairs the nonstick surface and causes food to stick. Instead, users are encouraged to rely on the pan's inherent nonstick properties. To maintain the pan's appearance and performance, it is recommended to use silicone, nylon, bamboo, or wood utensils. Metal utensils or sharp objects should be avoided, as they can scratch or damage the nonstick coating, potentially voiding the warranty.

The pan is designed to operate efficiently at low to medium heat settings. High heat is unnecessary due to aluminum's excellent conductivity and can lead to permanent discoloration, damage, and void the warranty. Users should only keep the pan on the burner for the required cooking or boiling time and avoid overheating an empty pan.

For safety, users must always use oven mitts when handling a hot pan. Sudden temperature changes, such as immersing a hot pan in cold water, should be avoided; the pan should always be allowed to cool before washing. When using the pan on ceramic glass stovetops, it is important to lift, rather than slide, the pan to prevent scratching the cooktop. The document also notes that while the pan is a commercial-grade product suitable for conventional cooktops, its exterior satin finish may require special handling on certain cooktops, particularly ceramic glass, to prevent damage or scratches. Users are advised to consult their appliance's use and care instructions for specific guidance.

The pan's oven-safe capabilities vary depending on the presence of a silicone grip. Without the silicone grip, the pan is oven-safe up to 500°F (260°C). With the silicone grip attached, it is oven-safe up to 400°F (204°C). This flexibility allows for seamless transitions from stovetop cooking to oven finishing.

Maintenance Features:

Cleaning the Tramontina Professional Nonstick Fry Pan is straightforward due to its nonstick interior. For routine cleaning, soap and warm water are sufficient. Should burnt grease or food residue accumulate, warm water and a mild detergent can usually remove it. For more stubborn residues, a thorough cleaning with Soft Scrub® is recommended. However, abrasive cleansers, steel wool, or coarse scouring pads must not be used, as they can damage the nonstick surface.

Discoloration on the pan or handle, if it occurs, will not affect the pan's performance. Stains can often be lightened by gently rubbing the surface with Bon Ami® or baking soda and a damp cloth. Commercial cleansers are not recommended for this purpose.

While the pan is dishwasher-safe, it is important to note that natural aluminum may discolor when placed in a dishwasher. To optimize the life, performance, and aesthetic appeal of both the interior and exterior finishes, hand-washing and drying are recommended. If the pan has a removable silicone grip, it should be removed from the handle before washing, allowing both components to be cleaned thoroughly. After washing, both the handle and the inside of the grip must be completely dry and free of cooking grease or any other residue before the grip is reinserted onto the handle. This attention to detail ensures the longevity and continued excellent performance of the pan.

In summary, the Tramontina Professional Nonstick Fry Pan is designed for ease of use and maintenance, providing a reliable cooking tool for a variety of culinary needs. Adhering to the specified usage and maintenance guidelines will ensure the pan's optimal performance and extend its lifespan.
