The EDHUM098 and EDHUM120 are ventilating dehumidifiers that offer dedicated moisture control, fresh air mechanical ventilation, and superior air filtration. They are engineered for quiet operation and low-temperature performance, providing year-round comfort. Both models feature a horizontal configuration with an optional vertical discharge, making them suitable for installation in attics, basements, or crawl spaces. They utilize the DEH 3000/R digital control for managing outdoor air ventilation and humidity.

Usage Features
- Dehumidification: Both models effectively remove moisture from the air, contributing to a more comfortable indoor environment.
- Fresh Air Ventilation (Optional): The units can be connected to an insulated duct from outside to introduce fresh make-up air. A 6" diameter duct can provide up to 75 CFM of outside air. Ventilation time and frequency can be programmed via a control.
- Air Filtration: Equipped with a MERV-13 filter (1.75" x 14.00" x 17.50"), these dehumidifiers improve indoor air quality by capturing airborne particles.
- Ducting Options: The back panel can be rotated for either horizontal or vertical supply air discharge, offering flexibility in installation. A short piece of flexible ducting is recommended for all connections to reduce noise and vibration. Minimum 10" diameter round or equivalent rectangular ducting is advised for lengths up to 25', and 12" for longer lengths.
- Controls: The DEH 3000 proprietary control (sold separately) allows homeowners to monitor and control relative humidity and ventilation levels. Other thermostats compatible with the dehumidifier can also be used.
- Low-Temperature Operation: Engineered to operate effectively in cooler conditions, providing comfort year-round.
- Transformer Protection: Features a push-button reset for transformer protection.
- Drainage: Requires a drain trap for proper drainage. An optional condensate pump kit is available for installations requiring lift to dispose of condensate. A secondary drain pan with a float switch is recommended if installed above a living area to prevent water damage.
Maintenance Features
- Filter Replacement: The MERV-13 filter should be checked and replaced every three to six months to maintain dehumidifier capacity and efficiency. Operating the unit without the recommended filter voids the product warranty. Filter replacement involves pulling back a slide latch to open the filter door, removing the old filter, and inserting a new one with the airflow arrow pointing into the unit.
- Electrical Service Access: A side panel can be removed to access electrical components for servicing.
- Troubleshooting Guide: The manual includes a comprehensive troubleshooting section to diagnose common issues related to fan operation, compressor function, dehumidification capacity, and ventilation. It provides possible reasons for symptoms and step-by-step troubleshooting procedures, emphasizing that electrical tests should be performed by a qualified service person.
- Circuit Breaker: A resettable circuit breaker protects the 24-volt control transformer. The reset button is located on the back of the unit.
- Compressor Shipping Support Removal: A plastic tie wrap securing the compressor for shipping must be removed before operation to prevent excessive vibration. Plugs are provided to fill the holes after removal.
- Refrigerant Charging: Servicing the high-pressure refrigerant system and high-voltage circuitry requires a qualified service technician due to health and safety hazards. If refrigerant is lost, the leak must be repaired, and a new charge accurately weighed in, referring to the unit nameplate for correct charge weight and refrigerant type.
