Overview

This document serves as a quick setup guide for TRASSIR videorecorders, specifically covering models TR-N1216, TR-N1216P, TR-N1108, and TR-N1108P. It outlines the essential steps for installation, initial setup, and basic operation, focusing on user safety, device exterior, connection procedures, and video preview functionalities.

Function Description

The TRASSIR videorecorders are designed for recording and managing video streams from connected cameras. They function as central units for video surveillance systems, allowing users to view real-time video, record footage, and manage system settings. The devices support various recording modes, including permanent video recording and motion-triggered recording. They also offer features like multi-window video display, intelligent mode for face recognition, and remote access via a web interface.

Front Panel Indicators:

  • PWR (Power Indicator): Illuminates when the videorecorder is powered on.
  • ALM (Alarm Status Indicator): Indicates an active alarm status.
  • REC (HDD Data Recording Indicator): Flashes constantly during HDD operation when recording data.

Rear Panel Connectors:

  • ON/OFF Button: For powering the videorecorder on or off.
  • HDMI Connector: For connecting a display, supporting HDMI output.
  • VGA Connector: For connecting a display, supporting VGA output.
  • AUDIO IN (RCA Connector): For connecting analog and TVI cameras with audio input.

Usage Features

1. Powering On and Off:

  • Powering On: Connect the power supply. The power supply indicator will blink, and a sound alarm will indicate successful startup. The device defaults to multi-window video output. If the recording schedule is active, timed video recording will start automatically, and the REC indicator for the corresponding channel will blink.
  • First Start: Upon the first start, it is mandatory to change the administrator password.
  • Powering Off: Right-click in the main menu and select "Shutdown."

2. Startup Wizard: The startup wizard automatically launches upon device power-on, guiding users through initial configuration.

  • General Settings: Configure language, time zone, system time, time format, DST (Daylight Saving Time), auto logout duration, device number, host name, and preview strategy (e.g., real-time priority).
  • Recording Settings: Define recording schedules for each channel, including pre-record duration and stream type (main). Users can set different recording types: Normal, MD (Motion Detection), and Alarm.
  • HDD Management: View HDD status, attributes, type, total and free space. The wizard also shows remaining record days and allows for formatting HDDs.
  • Network Settings: Configure network parameters such as DHCP, IP address, subnet mask, gateway, MAC address, primary and secondary DNS, link speed/duplex mode, maximum users, HS download, and transfer mode.
  • Alarm Event Settings: Configure alarm statuses for various events like video loss, mask, motion detection (MD), intelligent detection, network alarm, alarm input, no writable disk, network anomaly, and IP conflicted.

3. Authorization and Logout:

  • Authorization: To access settings and main functions, select the user, enter the password, and click OK.
  • Security Feature: Entering an incorrect password more than seven times in a row will lock the user's account for 60 seconds.
  • System Logout: After logging out, the preview screen is displayed. Re-authorization is required to access settings and functions again.

4. Video Preview: The device enters video preview mode automatically after powering on, displaying real-time images from connected cameras.

  • Main Menu Options:
    • Single Screen: Full-screen display of a single camera.
    • Multi-Screen: Displays multiple camera feeds simultaneously.
    • Tour: Cycles through all transmitted channels one by one.
    • Recording Start: Initiates permanent or motion-triggered recording.
    • IP Camera Adding: Allows adding new IP cameras.
    • Playback: Accesses recorded video footage.
  • Tools Bar (per channel):
    • Quick Playback: Plays the last ten minutes of video from the selected channel.
    • Full Screen/Zoom: Displays the selected channel in full screen with a zoom window in the corner.
    • Quick Recording Switch: Quickly switches to video recording mode for the selected channel.
    • Snapshot Saving: Captures a still image from the camera.
    • Sound Control: Enables/disables audio on the channel.
    • Two-Way Audio: Enables/disables two-way audio communication.
    • Channel Settings: Opens the settings menu for the selected channel.

    • Multiple Views: Selects multi-window video display modes.
    • Corridor Mode: Activates corridor video display mode.

5. Web Interface:

  • Access: Open a browser, enter the device's IP address, and an authorization window will appear.
  • Login: Enter username and password, select interface language, and click "Login."
  • First Connection: A plug-in installation may be prompted to view archive and live video.
  • Live Video Control: The "Live" menu in the web interface allows viewing and controlling video.
    • Channel List: Displays available channels.
    • Preview Window: Shows real-time video.
    • Display Settings Panel: Customizes preview window appearance, layout, and stream switching (main/secondary).
    • Control Panel: Offers video controls like resolution switching (4:3, 16:9), dynamic tracking, video multistreaming, snapshot saving, video recording, sound control, and starting/stopping channel viewing.
    • PTZ Control Area: For controlling PTZ cameras.

Maintenance Features

1. Safety Instructions:

  • Power Supplies: Use only manufacturer-provided or recommended power supplies. Avoid connecting to unspecified power sources.
  • Foreign Objects: Do not insert objects into slots to prevent electric shock.
  • Environment: Avoid dusty or humid environments. Keep liquids away. Disconnect power immediately if water contact occurs and contact supplier.
  • Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth for cleaning the case. Do not use liquid spray cleaners.
  • Anomalies: If strange odors, sounds, or smoke are detected, immediately turn off power, disconnect all cables, and contact the supplier.
  • Cover Removal: Do not attempt to remove the top cover to avoid electric shock.
  • Damage: If the device is damaged by impact or fall, contact the manufacturer for repair or replacement.
  • Battery: The device contains a lithium battery. Use only manufacturer-supplied or recommended batteries. If the system clock stops after power disconnection, replace the standard 3V battery on the main board. Unplug the videorecorder before battery replacement.
  • Ventilation: Use the device in a well-ventilated room. Do not block ventilation openings (top, bottom, sides, back) as hard drives become hot during operation.
  • Power Adapter Usage: The supplied power adapter is for one videorecorder only. Connecting other devices may cause reboots due to insufficient power.

2. HDD Installation:

  • Pre-installation: Ensure the videorecorder is powered off before HDD installation.
  • Procedure:
    1. Undo screws on the back and sides, then remove the cover.
    2. Install the hard drive.
    3. Connect data and power cables.
    4. Reinstall the cover and secure it with screws.
  • Warning: Do not attempt to remove the hard disk during videorecorder operation.

3. Connection to Power Supply:

  • Use the supplied power adapter.
  • Ensure audio input, audio output, and network port cables are securely connected before powering on.

4. Web Interface Layout:

  • The web interface layout may vary depending on the device mode and firmware version.
  • Upon first connection, a plug-in installation may be required to view archive and live video.
