Overview

The AGP FS Pellet Stove is a solid fuel-burning room heater designed for efficient and environmentally conscious heating. It is certified for use in both residential and mobile homes in the US and Canada, meeting ASTM E1509 and ULC S627 standards.

Function Description:

The AGP FS Pellet Stove operates by burning pelletized wood fuel to provide heat. It can be installed as a freestanding unit, a hearth stove into an existing masonry or zero-clearance fireplace, or retrofitted into a Class A chimney. The stove offers both manual and thermostat (TSTAT) modes for controlling heat output and room temperature. In manual mode, users manually start, shut down, and adjust the heat and fan settings. In TSTAT mode, the stove automatically turns on and off based on a thermostat setting, with three programmable options to manage burn rates and maintain consistent temperatures. The stove relies on an electrical blower system to evacuate flue gases, making proper ventilation and power supply crucial for safe operation. An igniter initiates the burn process during startup.

Usage Features:

  • Control Panel: Located at the top back of the stove, with START, STOP, HEAT, FAN, and TSTAT controls.
  • Loading Pellets: Hopper lid lifts vertically for pellet loading. The stove will shut down if the lid is open for more than 1 minute.
  • Manual Mode:
    • Start: Press START button; initiates a 22-minute start-up sequence.
    • Shut Down: Press STOP button; initiates a 45-minute shut-down process.
    • Heat Adjustment: HEAT knob adjusts pellet feed rate (lower heat to higher heat).
    • Fan Adjustment: FAN knob adjusts blower speed (lower fan to higher fan) to distribute heat. An AUTO-FAN setting automatically adjusts fan speed based on feed rate for efficient operation.
  • TSTAT (Thermostat) Mode:
    • Start: Press TSTAT button; initiates a 22-minute start-up sequence if there is a call for heat.
    • Heat Adjustment: HEAT knob adjusts heat output.
    • Shut Down: Press STOP or TSTAT button, or turn thermostat down below room temperature; initiates a 45-minute shut-down process.
    • TSTAT Programs (1, 2, 3): Three pre-programmed options for managing burn rates when the thermostat calls for heat. Program 1 steps down burn rates over time, Program 2 decreases to low burn then off, and Program 3 decreases to low burn and holds until heat is called again. Programs are switched by simultaneously pressing STOP and TSTAT buttons when the unit is cold.
  • Restrictor Adjustment: An internal restrictor can be adjusted to control airflow to the fire platform, optimizing burn quality and cleanliness for different heat output settings (low, medium, high) and flue conditions.
  • Safety Features: Automatic shutdown if hopper lid is open, over-temperature, or ignition failure. Exhaust blower runs for 15 minutes after power outage or plugging in to clear smoke. Warning for hot glass surfaces.
