SystemNameProvidesawaytodistinguishbetweenreceivers.IntheSystemNamefieldatthe
bottomofthescreen,enteralogicalnametoidentifythereceiversuchas"WorkSiteAlphaRxr".To
helprecognizethereceiverwhen
usingtheZeroConfigurationservicediscovery,enteranamethat
isclearandobvious.Thisnameisvisiblewhenonacomputerthatisonthesamesubnetasthe
receiver.Youshouldplantheassignmentofsystemnames,especiallyinlargenetworks,tohelp
networkadministration.
SerialNumberShowstheserialnumberofthe
Trimblereceiver.Thisnumberisuniqueacrossall
Trimblereceivers,andisthemostreliablewaytoidentifyaspecificreceiver.
EthernetMACAddressShowstheEthernetMAC(MediaAccessControl)Address,whichisan
Ethernethardwareaddressthatuniquelyidentifieseachdeviceonanetwork.TheTrimblereceiver
hasauniqueaddressandyoucanuseittodistinguishbetweenmultiplereceiversonanetwork.
EthernetIPShowstheEthernetIPaddressassignedtothereceiver.Thisaddressisusedto
connecttothereceiverusingtheEthernetport.Thisaddressmaybestatic,oritmaychange
over
time(DHCP),dependingontheEthernetconfiguration
ofthereceiver.
DNSAddressShowstheIPaddressoftheDNSserver.
