  • Verify Functionality: Before critical measurements, test the meter on a known live circuit to ensure it is working correctly.
  • Do Not Use Damaged Meter/Leads: Avoid using the meter if its case is open, parts are removed, or if the meter or test leads show signs of damage (e.g., damaged insulation, exposed metal, cracked case, burnt smell).
  • Proper Lead Insertion: Ensure test leads are properly inserted and seated in the correct input jacks.
  • Observe Max Ratings: Do not exceed the maximum voltage or current limitations.
  • Avoid Voltage on Ohms/Diode/Continuity: Do not apply voltage or current to the meter when set to Ohms, Diode Test, or Continuity Beeper modes.
  • Correct Jack Usage: Do not attempt to measure voltage with leads plugged into mA or 20A jacks.
  • Do Not Rotate Switch Under Load: Avoid rotating the Function switch with test leads connected to the circuit.
  • Replace Fuses Correctly: Use only exact or equivalent fuses; do not "bridge" fuses.
  • Earth Ground Potential: Do not apply voltages above 600V AC/DC relative to earth ground.
  • Low Battery Warning: Discontinue use when the low battery symbol is displayed, as readings may be inaccurate.
  • High Voltage Caution: Exercise caution when working with voltages above 25V AC or 35V DC due to the risk of electrical shock.
  • Not for Children: This meter is not intended for use by children.
  • Adverse Environments: Do not use in rain, snow, fog, steam, explosive gases, dusts, or condensing atmospheres.
  • Temperature Acclimation: Allow the meter to warm to room temperature if brought from a cold environment to prevent condensation.
  • No Modifications: Do not modify the meter's design.
  • AC/DC Mode Mismatch: Be aware that the meter will not read AC voltage if set to DC, or vice versa.
  • Live Circuit Awareness: Do not touch the metallic portion of one test lead if the other is connected to a live circuit.
  • No Display: Do not use the meter if there is no display on the LCD.
  • Capacitor Caution: Exercise caution when measuring circuits with capacitors, as they can store dangerous energy.
