Why does my Triton Water Filtration System have high TDS in the product water?
    • N
      Nancy BakerAug 10, 2025
If the product water from your Triton Water Filtration System has a high content of dissolved salts (TDS), it could be due to several reasons. Check if the waste valve is open and adjust it accordingly. Inspect the osmosis membrane seal inside the membrane housing to ensure it's properly seated and in good condition, without any leaks in the o-ring or cap. If the reverse osmosis membrane is exhausted (average life is about 2 years), replace it. Also, verify that the product and wastewater lines are not reversed, correcting them if necessary. Finally, consider whether the amount of TDS in the feedwater has changed, as an increase in raw water TDS can affect product water quality. You should also refer to other causes related to insufficient pressure.

Why is my Triton Water Filtration System producing no or too little water?
    • A
      andersonjamesAug 28, 2025
If your Triton Water Filtration System is producing no product or too little water, the membrane might be saturated or dirty, requiring cleaning or replacement. Also, check your feed water temperature and correction factor, ensuring the flow is at an acceptable level. Refer to other sections in this manual that address issues of not having enough pressure.

How to troubleshoot a Triton Water Filtration System that will not start?
    • J
      Jennifer HurleyNov 3, 2025
If your Triton Water Filtration System isn't starting, begin by ensuring the power switch is in the AUTO position and that the system is properly plugged into a functioning power outlet. Check the 2AMP fuse on the back of the controller. Verify that the feed valve is fully open to provide sufficient inlet pressure. Also, confirm that your pre-treatment pump is operating correctly to supply pressure to the Reverse Osmosis system. Check the low-pressure switch and replace if needed. Ensure pretreatment pressure drop doesn't cause insufficient water pressure. Inspect the magnetic starter and level switch, replacing the coil if necessary and checking if the storage tank is filled. If the pump motor seems to be the issue, use a multimeter to check all electrical connections and switches to pinp...

What to do if there's no high pressure in my Triton Water Filtration System?
    • R
      Russell WilliamsNov 15, 2025
If there's no high pressure in your Triton Water Filtration System, first allow the system to run for at least 5 minutes to purge any air, as some air is normal. Then, check if the waste valve is open and adjust the pressure to the recommended level for your membrane type. Ensure the recirculation valve isn't completely open and adjust it as needed. Verify the pressure gauge is working correctly; replace it if faulty. Inspect all tubing and hoses for kinks or blockages, replacing any damaged sections. Check the pump impellers for wear or damage and replace if necessary. Also, make sure the power supply matches the voltage requirements of your system. Finally, check the solenoid valve for clogs or faults, and ensure sufficient water pressure is feeding the system to prevent the pump from su...

Why does my Triton Water Filtration System water taste and smell different?
    • T
      Tammy MarshallNov 20, 2025
If your Triton Water Filtration System's product water has a different taste and odor, it could be due to a saturated and polluted membrane (bacteria), which may require chemical cleaning or replacement. Check for any foreign matter in the storage tank, and if present, clean and sanitize the tank. Consider replacing the filter cartridges and ensure that the product and wastewater lines are not reversed. If they are, correct the connections. If you have a post-carbon filter, replace it if it's exhausted. Also, the membrane life is on average 2 years, so replace the membrane if its life has been exhausted. Check that the membrane is installed properly and for leaks in the o-ring or cap causing a mixture of water and waste-product. Finally, consider integrating special pre-treatment to remove...
