Brake Calipers – Inspection
Make sure the motorcycle is stabilised and adequately supported.
A correctly supported motorcycle will help prevent it from falling.
An unstable motorcycle may fall, causing injury to the operator or damage to the
motorcycle.
Always renew caliper seals and pistons after removal from the caliper. An effective
hydraulic seal can only be made if new components are used.
A dangerous riding condition leading to loss of control of the motorcycle or an
accident could result if this warning is ignored.
1. Check for correct brake operation and that the caliper pistons are not seized. Rectify
as necessary.
2. Inspect the brake calipers for fluid leaks. Rectify as necessary.
