RUNNING INSTRUCTIONS
Running-in
The
Imporlance
of
correct
funning-in
cannot
be too strongly
emphasized, for
durmg
the
first
few
thousand miles
of
motormg,
all
working
surfaces
of
the vehicle are
'bedding
down'.
Avoid placing heavy loads
upon
the engme, such
as
USing
full
throttle
at
low
speeds
or
when
the
engme
IS
cold. Running-in
should
be progressive
and
no
harm
will
result
from
the
engine
being
allowed

thoroughly
warm
and
not
pulling

Always select a lower gear If necessary to relieve
the
engme
of
load. Full
power
should
not
be used
until
at

adopting
the
