voltage detector BE15
Switching the device on
1. Switch the device on by pressing the device power
button(1).
ð A brief acoustic signal is emitted, and the measuring
tip(7) lights up green.
Info
After switch-on, the device's measurement sensitivity
is always set to 200V to 1000V. In order to detect
lower ACvoltages, you have to select sensitivity level2
before starting the measurement.
Setting the measurement sensitivity
The device BE15 has two sensitivity levels.
Sensitivity level ACvoltage
measuring range
LED colour
measuring tip
1 200 V to 1000 V green
2 24 V to 1000 V orange
Please proceed as follows to change the sensitivity level:
1. Switch the device on.
ð After switch-on, the device's measurement sensitivity is
set to 200V to 1000V.
2. Briefly press the sensitivity selection button(1) once.
ð The measuring tip lights up orange, and sensitivity
level2 is set.
ð The device's measurement sensitivity is now set to 24V
to 1000V.
24 V – 1000 V 200 V – 1000 V

Checking the device's functionality before measuring
Note
Before commissioning, check the function of the
device at a known voltage source, e.g. on a known and
safe230V voltage source or on a known and safe
9Vbattery. Select the correct measuring range!
ü Charged batteries have been inserted into the device.
1. Switch the device on.
2. Hold the measuring tip (7) to a known source of voltage.
ð The measuring tip (7) flashes red.
ð A repetitive acoustic signal is emitted.
ð You can now use the device to detect ACvoltages.
