The LactoCorder T-T is an electronic high-tech measuring instrument designed for checking the quality and quantity of animal milk. It is intended for use in stables and requires careful handling due to its sensitive nature. The device is designed to be reliable, with individual modules and the complete unit undergoing quality assurance testing.
The primary function of the LactoCorder T-T is to measure milk quantity and quality. It operates by measuring the storage level of milk at the beginning and end of a measurement cycle. This allows for the calculation of the weight of milk, which can then be added to the amount in a collection bucket. The device can be configured to either empty after each measurement or to retain milk, with the latter being proposed for milk quantity measurement without emptying.
The LactoCorder T-T also supports online data measurement and cleaning. It can record online values during a cleaning process for up to 90 minutes. If a cleaning process exceeds this duration, a RAM overflow will occur, indicating that the online readings are incomplete, though cleaning will continue normally.
Data transfer is a key feature, allowing measured data to be analyzed using LactoPro software (version 6.0.90 or later). Data is stored on a USB stick in a dedicated folder ("LCS measurement data") and can be manually copied to a PC for further analysis. The data files are named using an abbreviation for measurement data (MD), an operating number, and the date. The stored data includes operating number, animal number, bottle ID, device number, time, date, milking place number, expected milk quantity, battery status, total milking, and species.
The LactoCorder T-T is designed for stable environments and can be hung using brackets or positioned as needed. It is crucial that the device hangs as vertically as possible and that hoses are kept short to ensure complete milk drainage, preventing distortion of measurement results.
Before commissioning, users must read the operating instructions carefully. The device should only be used by personnel familiar with these instructions and applicable safety regulations. It is important to ensure the device is in perfect condition before use and to address any operational safety faults immediately.
One-time settings are required for initial setup. This includes turning on the device, inserting a USB stick, and accessing a hidden service menu by pressing button "9" twice quickly. A six-digit password (complementary value 9 to the device number) must be entered to access settings. Within the settings, users can activate online data measurement and cleaning, and select the language (German is an option).
The device can be configured to either empty after each measurement or not. For milk quantity measurement without emptying, it is proposed to choose the "without emptying" option. Users can also enter a weighted quantity of milk for online measurement and configure sampling during online measurement.
Maintaining the functionality of the LactoCorder T-T requires specific care instructions. After each measurement, an internal cleaning program should be run. The blowpipe should then be removed and cleaned separately.
The device is powered by a lithium-ion battery with 4400 mAh, and a battery indicator provides information on its charge status. Different battery conditions (100%, 85%, 75%, 60%, 50%, 35%, 25%, 10% charged) dictate specific actions, such as replacing and charging the battery on occasion, after milking and load, or immediately if the charge is low.
The manual also addresses potential errors and their solutions. For instance, if a "No filter inserted" error occurs, it indicates a missing filter or magnet. A "Storage Online. Failed!" error during measurement suggests an issue with the USB stick, which should be replaced. If writing online data to the USB stick fails, the process should be repeated or canceled, and measurement data can be transferred from the USB stick once the issue is resolved.
Certain actions are strictly prohibited to maintain warranty and functionality. These include immersion or cleaning with high-pressure equipment, compressed air, or direct water jets (IP 64). The use of solvents, solvent-based substances, or non-standard cleaning products not approved for milking machines is also forbidden. Mechanical or chemical cleaning of probes with abrasives, impacts, improper handling, falls, and transport damage are to be avoided. Processing the equipment in ways different from maintenance and repair instructions, and tightening screws without adhering to pre-written torques, will also void the warranty. Changes or modifications to the device or program (software) are not permitted without supplier approval.
