Overview

This document is a user manual for Neos electric radiators, manufactured by Trust Electric Heating Ltd. The manual provides comprehensive information regarding the installation, operation, maintenance, and specifications of their radiators, including "The Standard Range," "The Vertical Range," and "The Junior Range."

Function Description

Neos electric radiators are designed to provide heating for residential and commercial spaces. They operate by converting electrical energy into heat, which is then distributed into the room. The radiators are equipped with an integral thermostat for temperature control and can be programmed for automatic operation. They are intended for fixed installation on walls and are not designed to be portable or used in immediate surroundings of baths, showers, or swimming pools.

Important Technical Specifications

The radiators come in three main ranges: Standard, Vertical, and Junior, each with specific models and dimensions.

General Specifications across ranges:

  • Heat Source: Soapstone core with tungsten element. This combination is designed for efficient heat retention and distribution.
  • Installation: Fixed to the wall via wall fixing brackets.
  • Guarantee: 25-year guarantee for the radiator elements (tungsten and soapstone). Thermostats have a guarantee period of 2-5 years, depending on the specific model.
  • Thermostat: Lot 20 compliant and digital. This indicates adherence to energy efficiency regulations.
  • Electrical Supply: 13 Amp 240V.
  • Connection: Flex Twin, Earth, 1.5mm.
  • Cable Exit Point: Right or Left, specified on order.
  • Safety Cut Out: NC - 150° open, 130° reset. This is a safety feature to prevent overheating.
  • Construction: Aluminium and Soapstone for the core, with Aluminium and Zinc for the external construction.
  • Floor Sensor: High accuracy 103AT-2 thermistor (accuracy ±0.3°C at 25°C). This allows for precise floor temperature monitoring, likely for optimal heating control.
  • CE Mark: Yes, indicating compliance with European safety, health, and environmental protection requirements.

Usage Features

  • Thermostat Control: The radiators are equipped with an integral thermostat, allowing for automatic programmed operation. Users are advised to exercise caution when using this feature, as the appliance will switch on automatically, posing a potential fire risk if covered or displaced.
  • Installation Flexibility: Recommended installation is under a window or on an outside wall for optimal heat distribution. However, installation on an inside wall is also possible, though it may result in uneven heat distribution.
  • Clearance Requirements: Specific minimum clearances are required for safe and efficient operation:
    • Minimum 20 cm (8") from the floor to the lowest fixing rail hole, providing 10 cm (4") clearance to the lower edge of the radiator.
    • Minimum 10 cm (4") clearance above the radiator to a window board or overhang.
    • Minimum 75mm (3") to the sides to any adjacent fittings or furniture.
    • No furniture or objects within 150mm (6") of the front panel.
    • At least 30cm (12") clearance above the radiator to any electrical installation.
  • Safety Warnings:
    • DO NOT cover the radiator or drape clothes over it to dry to avoid overheating.
    • DO NOT use in the immediate surroundings of a bath, shower, swimming pool, or any water source. If installed in a room with a bath or shower, controls must not be touchable by a person in the bath or shower.
    • DO NOT use if the supply cord is damaged.
    • DO NOT locate immediately below a fixed socket outlet or connection box.
    • DO NOT sit on or stand on the radiator, or place objects in contact with it.
    • The surface of the heater can be hot; exercise special care around children and persons requiring supervision.
    • Initial operation may produce odours; ensure the room is well ventilated.
    • The radiator is heavy and requires at least two people for removal or lifting.
    • Children under 3 years old should be kept away unless continuously supervised. Children aged 3-8 years old should only operate the appliance under supervision and after understanding the hazards. They should not regulate, clean, or perform user maintenance.

Maintenance Features

  • Cleaning:
    • The external appearance can be maintained by wiping occasionally with a dry duster.
    • When the appliance is not in use and completely cold, wipe with a damp cloth.
    • Dust build-up below and at the back of the radiator (due to convection) can be removed by vacuuming or regular dusting.
    • DO NOT use abrasive cleaning powders or furniture polish.
  • Discoloration: The manual notes that discoloration of wall finishes may occur above the heater due to convection, paint properties, and environmental impurities (soot, smoke, incense).
  • After Sales Service:
    • In case of a fault, DO NOT attempt to repair or remove the product, as this could invalidate the guarantee.
    • Contact the manufacturer (Trust Electric Heating Ltd) at 0800 5999 109 to arrange an engineer visit.
    • Accidental damage is not covered under warranty.
    • The company reserves the right to charge for callouts and time on site if the fault is not due to product failure or installation error.
    • Electrical appliances contain pollutants and should be disposed of safely according to local regulations. DO NOT attempt to disassemble any part of the product.
    • Retain your receipt as proof of purchase.
