The Tsunami Pure Series Tank Mounted Regenerative Dryer is a sophisticated air drying system designed to deliver clean, dry compressed air for various applications. It operates by removing water vapor, oil aerosols, and particulates from compressed air, ensuring optimal performance of downstream equipment and processes.
The system employs a multi-stage filtration and drying process. Incoming air first enters a 1st stage water separator, which removes water and particulates down to 10 microns. Following this, the air passes through a 2nd stage oil coalescing filter, where oil aerosols are filtered down to 0.001 ppm and particulates down to 0.01 micron. The pretreated air then proceeds to the regenerative dryer, which utilizes molecular sieve desiccant to capture water vapor.
The regenerative dryer operates on a timed cycle. Approximately every 90 seconds (or 2 minutes for 12V timers using a pneumatic generator), a timer sends a signal to an internal piston, causing it to shift. This shift redirects airflow through the opposite dryer canister, allowing the desiccant in one tower to regenerate while the other dries the air. This continuous cycling ensures a consistent supply of dry air.
The Tsunami Regenerative Drying System is capable of achieving very low dew points, down to -80°F, and relative humidity as low as 0.01% RH. All dryers come standard with automatic drains (Moisture Minder® pneumatic drains for Pure-10T models and float drains for ROVE Mobile Dryer models) to ensure proper discharge of all contaminants captured by the water separator and oil coalescing filter.
Pure Series Tank Mounted Dryers typically come with a 110V timer/coil assembly for controlling tower cycling. Other voltage options, including 220 VAC, are available. Self-powered units equipped with a pneumatic generator provide power to a 24 VDC timer/coil assembly, offering ultimate mobility and self-contained operation.
The manual includes a troubleshooting guide for common issues such as water/oil carryover, excess air purging out the muffler, and the dryer not cycling. This guide provides probable causes and corresponding corrections, such as verifying automatic drains, replacing filter elements, replacing desiccant canisters, lubricating or replacing pistons, and checking/replacing power cords or solenoid timer valves.
The Tsunami Regenerative Drying System is designed for longevity and ease of maintenance, ensuring a reliable supply of clean, dry air with adherence to the specified service schedule.
