Function Description
The TTHOB Electric Ceramic Cooktop is an appliance designed for cooking, featuring multiple surface heating elements. It operates by heating ceramic glass surfaces, which in turn transfer heat to cookware. The cooktop is equipped with control knobs and a touch panel for managing power settings, timers, and other functions. Safety features include a child lock, residual heat indicators, overheat protection, and an auto-shutdown mechanism.

All models feature a ceramic glass surface and control knobs, with some including a touch panel. Electrical connections should be made by a licensed, qualified electrical installer. The connection diagrams illustrate wiring to a leakage switch of the power supply box, indicating a 240V connection for TTGL2212N (16A) and a 240V connection for TTGL2224N/TTGL2230N/TTGL2230P (32A).
Usage Features
The TTHOB Electric Ceramic Cooktop offers several features to enhance cooking convenience and safety:
- Power Setting: Users can adjust the temperature from level 1 (minimum) to level 9 (maximum) using the control knobs.
- Timer: A 0-90 minute timer can be set for individual burners. The timer indicator for the selected burner will light up, and the timer knob is used to select the desired duration. Multiple burners can have timers set.
- Pause Function: The pause button allows users to temporarily suspend or resume the current heating state of a burner, also pausing the timer function.
- Child Lock: This feature prevents unsupervised children from operating the cooktop. It activates automatically after plugging in or after one minute of inactivity if no timer is set. It can also be manually locked/unlocked by pressing and holding the Child Lock button for 2 seconds.
- Residual Heat Indicator ("H"): An "H" symbol appears on the panel if the surface temperature is above 140°F/60°C, indicating that the burner area is hot and should not be touched. The "H" disappears when the temperature drops below this threshold.
- Overheat Protection: For safety, the cooktop automatically cuts off power if the internal furnace temperature exceeds a set value due to poor ventilation or a faulty temperature sensing probe during continuous heating. Operation can resume once the temperature drops and the unit is reconnected.
- Auto Shutdown: The electric cooktop automatically shuts down after 2 hours of continuous operation for safety reasons. It can be re-powered after an automatic shutdown.
- Cookware Recommendations: The manual provides guidelines for suitable cookware. Enamelled steel, aluminum, and copper-bottomed cookware are generally recommended, provided they have flat, thick bottoms. Certain types of glass, glass/ceramic, ceramic, and earthenware are also suitable. Cookware handles should be turned inward to prevent burns and spills.
- Cookware to Avoid: Woks with support rings, thin-weight aluminum, enamel (painted) on steel, glass-ceramic, stoneware, and cast iron (unless specifically designed for glass cooktops) are not recommended due to potential damage to the cooktop surface, poor performance, or safety risks. Empty cookware should not be left on a hot cooking area.
Maintenance Features
Proper cleaning and maintenance are crucial for the longevity and appearance of the cooktop:
- General Cleaning: To avoid damage, users should NOT use steel wool, abrasive powder cleansers, chlorine bleach, rust remover, or ammonia. The cooktop should always be wiped with a clean, wet cloth or sponge and dried thoroughly to prevent streaking and staining.
- Light to Moderate Soil: Can be cleaned with paper towels or a clean damp sponge.
- Sugary Spills (Jellies, Candy, Syrup): These should be cleaned while the cooktop is still warm using a cooktop scraper (wearing oven mitts is recommended). After cooling, use Cooktop Polishing Creme with a damp paper towel or soft cloth, rubbing until the white film disappears.
- Heavy Soil, Dark Streaks, Specks, and Discoloration: Use Cooktop Polishing Creme or a nonabrasive cleanser with a damp paper towel or soft cloth, rubbing until the white film disappears.
- Burned-On Soil: Apply Cooktop Polishing Creme to the soil with a damp paper towel. Use a cooktop scraper, holding it as flat as possible on the surface, to scrape. Repeat for stubborn spots, then polish the entire cooktop with creme and a paper towel.
- Metal Marks from Aluminum and Copper: Clean these as soon as the cooktop has cooled down using Cooktop Polishing Creme, a damp paper towel, or a soft cloth. Rub until the white film disappears. While these marks may not completely vanish, they become less noticeable after repeated cleanings.
- Tiny Scratches and Abrasions: Cooktop Polishing Creme can be used to rub into the surface with a damp paper towel or soft cloth. Continue rubbing until the white film disappears. Scratches and abrasions do not affect cooking performance and become less noticeable after many cleanings.
The manual emphasizes that the bottom of cookware should be clean and dry before placing it on the hob surface. It also warns against cooking on a broken cooktop, as cleaning solutions and spills could penetrate and create a risk of electric shock, advising immediate contact with a qualified technician in such cases. The cooktop should never be used for warming or heating the room.
