Current Meter calibration
Select: Meters = Volts & Amps
Adjust: VR28 for Current (RH) display to read 40.00 (or to match actual current).
Current Monitor Output calibration
Connect: DVM to current monitor output.
Adjust: VR26 for monitor output = 2.000 V ± 0.4mV.
High Current check
Select: Meters = Level A & Level B, Control = Level B.
Set the Level B control so the RH display reads 80.00
Meters = Volts and Amps.
Check: Current display reads 80.00 ± .02
DVM (on current monitor output) reads 4.000 ± 1mV.
Load Current (on meter or shunt) is 80.00 Amps ± .08
Note this reading to compare in test 8.8.
Remote Control input check
Connect: A power supply to the Control Voltage terminals on rear panel.
Set: The output of the supply to 2.000 V and switch on.
Use DVM to check and adjust for an actual voltage of 2.000 V ± 0.5 mV.
Select: Level Control = External Voltage.
Check: Load current is 40.00 ±.02 Amps.
Fan speed switching threshold.
Select: Level Control = Level A. Enable = out, then in.
Meters = Watts & Ohms.
Preset: VR18 fully counter-clockwise.
Set: Source voltage = 5·75V
Check: Watts (LH) display reading is 225 to 235 Watts.
Adjust:
VR18 slowly clockwise until the Fans speed up.
Stop moving VR18 as quickly as possible after this.
Note that there is hysteresis and a time delay in the opposite direction.
If in doubt, return VR18 fully CCW and repeat the setting.
Set: Source voltage = 5V.
Wait for the fans to slow down.
Check:
Increase source voltage slowly until fans speed up.
Watts (LH) display should read 220 to 240 Watts; if not, repeat the adjustment
Power limit operation (this is a functional check, not a calibration).
Set: Source voltage = 4.13 V
Select: Control = Level B, Meters = Watts & Ohms.
Check: Input lamp remains green
Current is within ± 0.02 Amps of previous reading (test 8.4)
Watts (LH) display reading is 328 to 332 Watts.
Set: Increase source voltage until the Input lamp turns orange.
Check: Current is < 78 Amps.
Check: Watts (LH) display reading is 350 to 380 Watts.
