Do you have a question about the Turin Elite 70 and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

This document provides installation, use, and care instructions for the Turin Elite 70 range hood, available in 28" Micro-cell (TU19223S-B28), 28" Baffle (TU19223S-B28B), and 34" Baffle (TU19223S-B34B) models. It is intended for domestic cooking use only.

Function Description:

The Turin Elite 70 is a range hood designed to ventilate cooking fumes and odors from the kitchen to the outside. It features a fan with multiple speed settings and integrated lighting to illuminate the cooking area. The hood can be vented through the roof or a side wall, requiring a 90° elbow for wall venting. It is equipped with either micro-aluminum or baffle filters to capture grease.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Body Material: Stainless steel (Acier inoxydable)

  • Motor Input Power: 190W
  • Maximum Airflow: 600 CFM (PCM)
  • Motor Revolution: 800 RPM (+/- 10%) to 1600 RPM (+/- 10%)
  • Current Intensity: 3.4 A

  • Illumination: 2 LED lights of 2.5 W (DEL lights of 2,5 W)
  • Venting Size: 6 inch Round (153 mm (6 po), sur le dessus)
  • Noise Level (dB / sone): Approximately 23.5 / 0.4 to 60 / 7.0 (Lowest to highest Speed) (1.0 - 7.0 sones or 23.5 – 70 dB Approx. min/max.)
  • Dimensions (for 28" models): 26.0625" x 10.25" x 10.4375" (66.2 x 26.0 x 26.5 cm)
  • Dimensions (for 34" models): 32.0625" x 10.25" x 10.4375" (81.4 x 26.0 x 26.5 cm)

Usage Features:

  • Operation: The range hood is controlled via push buttons for power, fan speed (Low, Medium, High), and lights. Pressing a speed control button selects the desired power level, canceling any previous speed mode. The light switch toggles the lights on and off.
  • Venting: The system must terminate to the outside (roof or side wall) and should not vent into attics or enclosed areas. Only metal/aluminum vent work is recommended, with rigid metal/aluminum ducts preferred for maximum airflow efficiency. A minimum 6" round duct is required. The length of the vent system and the number of elbows should be minimized to ensure efficient performance. A damper is included, and if the roof or wall cap also has a damper, the hood's damper flaps may be removed to increase airflow.
  • Installation Height: A distance of 24" to 30" is recommended between the stove top and the bottom of the range hood (30" minimum for 9' ceilings). For gas stove tops, 30" minimum is required.
  • Safety: Users are warned to read all instructions and warnings before operating. It is crucial to keep safety grills and filters in place during operation. Never dispose of cigarette ashes, ignitable substances, or foreign objects into the blowers. Cooking should not be left unattended, especially when frying, as oil can overheat and catch fire. Open flames under the hood should be avoided.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning Fan: The fan and filters should be kept clean to prevent the accumulation of greasy residue, which can increase inflammability.
  • Cleaning Filters: Filters must be cleaned periodically and replaced if worn or damaged. They are dishwasher safe, but hand washing with warm water and phosphate-free dishwashing detergent is recommended to prevent discoloration. Filters should be dried before reinstallation. The blowers should not be operated when filters are removed.
  • Cleaning Exterior Surfaces: Clean periodically with hot soapy water and a clean cotton cloth. Abrasive detergents, steel wool, or scoring pads should not be used on stainless steel surfaces. For heavier soil, liquid degreasers are suggested. Stainless steel cleaner can be used for splotchy hoods, ensuring not to get the solution on the control panel. After cleaning, a non-abrasive stainless steel polish can be used to restore luster. Deposits should not accumulate on the hood. Salt solutions, disinfectants, bleaches, or cleaning compounds should not remain in contact with stainless steel for extended periods.
  • Replacing LED Lights: Only 1.5W LED replacements available separately from Turin should be used. The range hood must be unplugged or the breaker turned off before replacing lights.
  • Replacing Filters: Damaged filters (punctured mesh, bent/broken frame) must be replaced. New filters can be found at www.myturin.com. Instructions are provided for both baffle and aluminum filter replacement, including how to tilt, slide, and secure them.
