Summary

Connect the cable connector to the trolley bracket with the security pin for each canopy.

Step 16: Separate Ribs

Gently separate each rib individually from the center hub approximately 10 inches.

Caution: Ensure Umbrella Level

Ensure the umbrella is level for safety and proper operation of lights and heaters.

TURN ON LIGHTS AND HEATERS

Turning on Ambia LED Lights

Press the light bulb icon to turn on LED lights; color changes to blue when ON.

Turning on Heaters

Press the heater icon to turn on heaters; color changes to blue when ON.

CLOSING UMBRELLA CANOPIES

Step 1: Turn Off Heaters

Press the heater icon to turn off heaters; it flashes for 2 minutes before turning white.

Step 2: Turn Off LED Lights

Press the light bulb icon to turn off LED lights; color changes to white when OFF.

Step 3: Turn Off Umbrella

Press the power button on the control panel to turn off the umbrella.

Step 4: Close with Tie-Back

Close the umbrella with the tie-back when not in use, especially in high winds.

Note: Cool Heaters Before Closing

This document describes the installation, operation, and maintenance of a dual canopy umbrella with integrated lights and heaters.

Function Description

The device is a dual canopy umbrella designed to provide shade, lighting, and heating. It features integrated Ambia LED lights and heaters within each canopy. The umbrella is operated via a control panel and includes safety features such as emergency shut-down, automatic heater turn-off, and a lock-out feature for unauthorized users. It is designed for outdoor use and requires electrical power for its lighting and heating functions.

Installation Steps

Step 1: Unpacking Remove all packaging from in and around the umbrella.

Step 2: Unlocking the Umbrella Pull the pin from the cam lock and lift the handle to unlock the umbrella.

Step 3: Mounting the Canopy and Beauty Cover Once the stem is leveled using the base installation instructions, slide the beauty cover and umbrella over the security stem (which is included with the umbrella). It is crucial to ensure that cables are not pinched when inserting the umbrella over the security stem and when installing the beauty cover.

Step 4: Locking the Umbrella and Installing Beauty Covers Lock the umbrella down by pushing the cam lock handles into the down position and securing them with pins. Mount the electrical beauty covers over the control boxes.

Step 5: Preparing for Dual Canopy Frame Installation For shipping purposes, trolley carts are tightened with elastic rope. Remove the protective bubble wrap and elastic rope from the electrical sleeve.

Step 6: Installing the Second Canopy Frame Install the second canopy frame using the 3/8" bushings and screws. Add a drop of provided Loctite to the end of the screw threads for secure fastening.

Step 7: Connecting High Wind Stabilizers (If Applicable) If high wind stabilizers are applicable, connect them as follows: a. Mount long arms wind stabilizers to the lower trolley cart. b. Mount short arms wind stabilizers to the upper trolley cart. Again, add a drop of provided Loctite to the end of the screw threads.

Step 8: Mounting the Electrical Sleeve Mount the electrical sleeve to the scissor bracket using a 3/8" bushing and a 3/8"-16 flat head screw. Apply a drop of provided Loctite to the end of the screw threads.

Step 9: Connecting Electrical Cables Connect the cable from the electrical sleeve to the scissor cable.

Step 10: Routing Cables Push the cable and connector through the scissor grommet hole.

Step 11: Power Connection Plug the umbrella's cord into 220V receptacles. The TUUCI logo on the control panel will be backlit in white when the umbrella is properly plugged into the power source.

Step 12: Turning On the Umbrella Press the Power button on the control panel to turn on the umbrella. The button will be backlit in red when power is ON. The light icon and heater icon on the control panels will also be backlit in white.

Step 13: Preparing for Crank Handle Operation Ensure the gear lock button is in the top (unlocked) position before turning the crank handle.

Step 14: Connecting the Cable Connector Insert and rotate the crank handle counter-clockwise until the cable connector aligns with the cable bracket. It is important to maintain tension on the cable connector while turning the crank counter-clockwise, as the canopies and umbrella will remain closed during this step.

Step 15: Fastening Cable Connector for Each Canopy For each umbrella canopy: a) While the umbrella is still closed, ensure the telescope is fully extended from the mast. b) Pull the security pin from the trolley car bracket. c) Pull the cable connector so it aligns with the trolley car bracket. d) Fasten the cable connector to the trolley bracket with the security pin.

Step 16: Separating Ribs Gently separate each rib individually from the center hub by approximately 10 inches. Do not force if a rib does not move easily; inspect the product for additional packaging.

Usage Features

Turning On Lights and Heaters

  • Turning on Ambia LED lights: Press the light bulb icon button on the control panel. The button's color will change from white to blue, indicating the lights are ON. The umbrella canopies must be fully opened for 5 seconds before the lights can be turned on.
  • Turning on heaters: Press the heater icon button on the control panel. The button's color will change from white to blue, indicating the heaters are ON. The umbrella canopies must be fully opened for 5 seconds before the heaters can be turned on.

Closing Umbrella Canopies

  • Turning off heaters: Press the heater icon button. It will flash for 2 minutes, then change to white, signaling the heaters are OFF.
  • Turning off Ambia LED lights: Press the light bulb icon button. The color will change to white, signaling the lights are OFF.
  • Turning off the umbrella: Press the power button on the control panel.
  • Closing the umbrella: Close the umbrella with the tie-back when not in use.

Important Note for Closing: The umbrella should not be closed entirely until all heaters have cooled down. Allow at least 10 minutes for heaters to cool. Close the umbrella during consistent wind conditions that exceed 25mph.

Maintenance Features

Emergency Shut-down or Interrupt Feature Press the Power button on the control panel to shut down or interrupt any function (Ambia LED lights and heaters). The red light on the Power button will turn OFF, and the white lights on the heater and light icons will turn OFF. Press the Power button again to turn the umbrella back ON.

Control Panel Indicator for Unlevel Umbrella If the umbrella is not level (tipped or tilted), the Power button will flash yellow, and all functions (Ambia LED lights and heaters) will be inactive. The TUUCI logo will not be backlit. Once the umbrella is level, it will return to a powered-down state with the TUUCI logos backlit in white and all other functions OFF. Press the Power button to turn on the umbrella, then activate the desired functions.

Lock-out Unauthorized Users Feature To prevent unauthorized access, press and hold the Power button for 5 seconds. All functions (Ambia LED lights and heaters) will maintain their original ON or OFF state. The Power button will be solid yellow when activated. To turn off the lock-out feature, press and hold the Power button for 5 seconds again. Users will regain access to turn ON-OFF various functions. If the Power button is pressed during a lock-out condition, activating the emergency shut-down or interrupt feature will turn off Ambia LED lights and heaters, and all icon button lights will be OFF, except for the TUUCI logos.

Heater Automatic Turn Off Safety Feature As a safety feature, the heaters on the Automated Umbrella will automatically turn off after 2 hours of operation. To turn the heaters back on, press the heater icon button.

Important Technical Specifications

Electrical Specs (Dual Canopy Umbrella) This umbrella requires two electrical circuits, one for each canopy side. Each circuit consists of one light unit and two heaters, totaling two light units and four heaters.

Customer Connection: Customer must connect to a protected power source circuit with proper Current Rating "Amps", near the umbrella, using an above-ground Junction box, according to their local electrical codes and regulations.

Warnings & Safety Instructions

  1. Read and understand the entire owner's manual before assembling or operating the umbrella.
  2. Read and understand all warnings posted on the umbrella and/or components.
  3. Disconnect electrical power to the umbrella during inclement weather.
  4. Risk of fire if heaters contact flammable materials or liquids.
  5. Keep children away from power cords on or around the umbrella.
  6. Disconnect power before removing or servicing the umbrella.
  7. Allow sufficient cooling of heaters before closing the umbrella.
  8. Do not use this umbrella for other than its intended use.
  9. Replace warning labels if they become obscured or removed.
  10. Ensure the umbrella is properly electrically grounded.
  11. Provide for adequate space to open and close the umbrella without obstructions.
  12. Customer's electrical power source connections, if any, are to be installed/connected by a certified electrician. Check local codes for guidance.
  13. When closing/opening the umbrella, keep hands and face clear of all pinch points or protruding umbrella components.

CAUTION:

  • Ensure that your umbrella is level (not tipped or tilted). For safety reasons, if the umbrella is tipped, you will not be able to turn on the Ambia LED light and/or heaters.
  • Ensure that there is nothing blocking the canopy of the umbrella from being fully opened.
