Overview

The TRIDENT™ NANO HOLTER PATCH is a cardiac monitoring device designed for patient use, providing a quick start guide and important information for monitoring.

Function Description

The device is a Holter patch designed to record cardiac activity over an extended period. It captures and stores electrocardiogram (ECG) data, allowing for the detection of cardiac events and abnormalities. Patients can also manually record symptomatic events by pressing a button on the device. The system includes a patch electrode that adheres to the skin and a removable device that fits into the electrode.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Water Resistance: The device is water-resistant, not waterproof. It should not be fully submerged or exposed to excessive amounts of water or moisture. Direct spraying of water onto the sensor should be avoided.
  • LED Indicators: The device uses LED lights to indicate its status:
    • Recording: Blinks green 5 times.
    • Recording Complete: Blinks red 5 times.
    • Poor Connectivity: Blinks yellow 5 times.
    • Requires Charging: Blinks green and yellow.
    • Event Recorded: Blinks green with an audible tone.
    • Fully Charged: Solid green light on the charging dock.
  • Battery Life: The device requires charging when the green and yellow lights alternate.
  • Event Recording: Holding the button for 4 seconds records a symptomatic event.

Usage Features

Preparation (Step 1: Skin Prep)

  1. Hair Removal: Remove all hair from the electrode site using a razor.
  2. Skin Cleaning: Scrub the electrode application sites with an alcohol wipe or warm soapy water.
  3. Drying: Thoroughly dry the area.

Device Application (Steps 2-4)

  1. Open Package: Open the package and remove the electrode.
  2. Insert Device: Slide the device into the electrode, ensuring the picture on the device matches the picture on the electrode. Hold the device in place until the green light turns off.
  3. Peel Liner: Peel the release liner from the electrode.
  4. Place Device: Place the electrode on the chest at a 45° angle. The "wings" of the electrode should span between the sternum and the left nipple, with the device body pointing towards the left shoulder. Press firmly on all parts of the electrode to ensure proper adhesion.

Monitoring and Status Check (Steps 5-6)

  1. Check Status: Briefly press the button on the device to check its recording status. The device will blink 5 times, with the color indicating the status (green for recording, yellow for poor connectivity, red for recording complete, green and yellow for charging required).
  2. Observing LED: It may be difficult to observe the LED while wearing the device. For easier viewing, press the button while standing in front of a mirror.

Recording Events (Step 7)

  1. Symptom Occurrence: If a symptom is felt while wearing the monitor, hold the button for 4 seconds.
  2. Confirmation: The light will blink green, and an "Event Recorded" tone will play, confirming the event has been logged.

Water Exposure Guidelines

  • Avoid Submerging: Do not fully submerge the device.
  • Showering: While showering, face away from the shower head to avoid direct water spray onto the sensor.
  • Seal Integrity: When inserting the recorder, firmly press and hold the exposed edge of the device closest to the LED into the electrode patch until the green LED flashes and turns off. This ensures the device is properly recording and maintains a water-resistant seal.

Electrode Replacement

  • If a new electrode is needed for an extended study, recharge the device and repeat the application instructions.
  • Ensure electrode sites are completely dry and free of residue before applying new adhesive electrodes.

Device Removal (Step 8)

  1. Eject Device: Firmly press the front edge near the status/event button and slide the device upward to eject it from the electrode.
  2. Peel Electrode: Slowly peel the electrode from the skin.
  3. Adhesive Removal Aid: It is recommended to take a warm shower during removal. If available, apply mineral oil as the electrode is peeled away to loosen the adhesive.

Maintenance Features

Charging (Step 9)

  1. Charging Indication: When the device requires charging (indicated by alternating green and yellow lights), remove it from the patch electrode.
  2. Insert into Dock: Insert the device into the charging dock.
  3. Charging Status: A solid green light on the charging dock indicates that the device is fully charged.
