Overview

This is a manual for the TZS First Austria FA-2419-1 Alarm Clock Radio with Wake-Up Light.

Function Description:

The device serves as an alarm clock radio with a unique wake-up light feature designed to simulate sunrise. It offers multiple alarm sound options, including a buzzer, FM radio, and six different nature sounds (soundscapes). Beyond its primary function as an alarm, it also works as an FM radio with an automatic station search function. The integrated sleep timer allows users to set the radio or ambient light to turn off automatically after a specified duration (15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes). The device also features an adjustable multicolor ambient light, providing a pleasant atmosphere, and a snooze function for those who need a few extra minutes of sleep.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Power Supply: The alarm clock radio operates on a 5V DC adapter. For backup and basic operation (buzzer only), it requires 2x LR6 AA batteries.
  • Display: It has a backlit display that shows the time and date. The display backlight offers four brightness levels.
  • FM Radio: The FM radio covers a frequency range of 87.5-108 MHz and includes an automatic station search function that saves found stations as program numbers (P01, P02, P03, etc.).
  • Wake-Up Light: The wake-up light gradually brightens 30 minutes before the set alarm time, reaching a user-defined maximum brightness to simulate a sunrise.
  • Ambient Light: The ambient light can be set to white light or various colors (Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Cyan, Blue, Purple) with adjustable brightness levels (L00-L18 for white light, L00-L05 for colored light).
  • Alarm Sounds: Users can choose from a buzzer, FM radio, or six different nature sounds (soundscapes).
  • Snooze Duration: The snooze function provides an additional 8 minutes of sleep.
  • Alarm Duration: The alarm sounds for a maximum of 30 minutes in radio and soundscapes mode, or 2 minutes in buzzer mode, if not manually turned off.

Usage Features:

  • Time and Date Setting: To set the time and date, press and hold the "clock set" button for 3 seconds. Users can adjust the hour, minute, date display sequence (Day, Month / Month, Day), year, month, and day using the [+]/[-] buttons, confirming each step with the "clock set" button. Language selection for weekdays is also available (English, French, Italian, Dutch, Spanish, Danish, German).
  • Alarm Setting: The alarm can be set by pressing and holding the "alarm set" button for 3 seconds. Users can configure the alarm hour, minute, sound number (for soundscapes), maximum alarm volume (L00-L18), ambient light type (white or colored), light color (C1-C8), and ambient light brightness (L00-L18 for white light, L00-L05 for colored light).
  • Alarm Stop and Snooze: When the alarm rings, pressing the "Snooze" button activates the snooze mode. To stop the alarm for the day, any other top control button can be pressed.
  • FM Radio Operation: The "FM radio" key turns the radio on/off. Holding it for 3 seconds initiates an automatic station search. The []/[] keys cycle through saved stations, and the volume up/down keys (11/9) adjust playback volume.
  • Ambient Light Control: The "Snooze/Light" button activates the ambient light, allowing users to switch between white, colored, or off modes. Brightness is adjusted with the [+]/[-] buttons. When colored light is selected, the "display backlight" button changes the color.
  • Sleep Timer: The "sleep timer" button activates the sleep timer function, offering options for 15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes, or OFF. The radio and light turn off automatically after the set time.
  • Display Backlight Adjustment: The "display backlight" button cycles through four brightness levels for the display. Note that when operating on battery power without the DC adapter, the display backlight only appears for 8 seconds after the "snooze/light" button is pressed.

Maintenance Features:

  • Battery Installation: The device requires 2x AA batteries for backup and basic operation. Users should ensure correct polarity during installation.
  • Power Connection: The DC adapter connects to a micro-USB socket. When connected, the wake-up light cycles through all available colors once.
  • Troubleshooting: In case of damage to the appliance or power cord, it should not be operated and must be taken to an authorized service center for inspection or repair.
  • Ventilation: The ventilation openings must be kept free to ensure proper operation.
  • Disposal: Used batteries and the non-working electrical equipment should be disposed of promptly and in accordance with local environmental laws and guidelines, at an appropriate waste disposal center.
