5.6 Capacity Measurement (capacitor test)
Prior to any capacitor measurement, it must be en-
sured that the capacitor to be tested is completely dis-
charged. Any failure to respect this prescription can
lead to serious corporal injury or instrument damage.
Furthermore, external voltages falsify the measure-
ment result.
Charged capacitors must be discharged using a high-
ohm resistance (not via short-circuit !).
For polarised capacitors, connect the "-" pole to the
Multimeter COM socket.
Resistors or semiconductor paths located in parallel
to the capacitor falsify the measurement result.
Select Ω measurement range using the measurement
function selection dial.
Connect the black test lead to the COM socket and the
red test lead to the socket.
The SELECT key is used to select the capacity test.
Connect the test leads to UUT.
Read the measurement result on the display screen.
