or “frame vibration” at certain speeds. If you experience this situation, slow down and take your
bicycle to an authorized mechanic for inspection and repair.
Excessive vibration can cause to lose control and fall.
Make sure your accessories are compatible and safe
To customize your bike, you can change or add other components and accessories, but not all
components are compatible and safe. Before purchasing a new component or accessory consult
our technicians.
Inappropriate components or assemblies could generate unknown stress levels on your bike,
which can cause you to lose control and fall.
Any damage due to using non-original components will invalidate the warranty.
Before each ride
Always check the condition of the bicycle before riding. In this section you will find a list of basic
checks you must perform.
Do not use the bicycle if it doesn’t meet all the points described in this manual section. Falling
Risk!
Check both wheels are tightly fastened
Verify the bicycle wheels are firmly attached to the fork and the frame, and that they do not move
out of position. Check that the axles and clamps of the front and rear wheels are properly closed.
If the pass-through shafts are not properly tightened, it can cause falling.
01. Check the wheels are in good conditions
02. Check that the tires are not worn out, have side cracks or sharp elements stuck.
03. Check that there are no spokes or wheel axles broken.
04. Check that the wheels are well centred. Lift and rotate each wheel separately, to observe
the rim as it passes through the fork and frame. If the tire rotation is not uniform, take your bi-
cycle to an authorized technician.
Seat adjustment and pedalling position
The handlebar along with the seat, define the position of the rider on the bicycle. You must ensure
that the position is as ergonomic as possible.
On Cross Country, Trail and Enduro bikes, the saddle needs to be set in a position that allows the
leg to be practically straight in the lowest position on the pedal. Check that when you sit on the
seat you can still touch the ground with the tips of your feet.
For more information go to the “Geometries” section of this manual and review the data for your
bicycle model.
UNNO bicycles are supplied without pedals and allow to mount many different models from well
known brands.
For more information on the assembly and maintenance of the pedals, refer to the correspond-
ing chapter in the “Adjustment and Maintenance Guide” of this manual and in the manuals of the
manufacturers.
Practice in safe areas
Before going at high speeds, or into adverse conditions, discover the functionality, characteristics
and behaviour of the brakes, the gear shifter and the pedals, by riding in areas with no traffic. This
way you will know your bicycle performance and limitations. If you want a performance that is dif-
ferent from the standardized one, consult our technicians or an authorized mechanic.
Before using automatic pedals for the first-time, with the bike standing still, practice how to insert
and release the clipless shoes. It is recommended you lean against a wall to avoid falling and then
adjust the force of hooking and unhooking the pedal. For more information on the pedals, read the
corresponding section of the “Adjustment and Maintenance Guide” of this manual.
The lack of practice with the automatic pedals, or a very strong adjustment of them, could pre-
vent you to detach quickly enough and cause a fall.
Avoid excessive vibrations in the front wheel.
On some occasions, heavier cyclists often experience “excessive vibration”, “harmonic oscillation”
