The TX-2211-03-1 is a wireless PIR (Passive Infrared) motion detector designed for use with burglar alarm panels, communicating on 868 MHz. It offers reliable motion detection and can be configured to suit various installation environments and coverage requirements.
Function Description
The detector's primary function is to sense movement within its field of vision, triggering an alarm when an intruder crosses its detection zones. It utilizes a pyroelectric sensor to detect changes in infrared radiation caused by moving objects. As an encrypted sensor, it requires re-synchronization with the control panel after battery changes or power loss to ensure proper operation.

Usage Features
The TX-2211-03-1 offers several configurable features to optimize its performance for different applications:
- Mounting Options: Supports both corner and flat wall mounting. The base can be used as a template for marking screw hole locations.
- Range and Sensitivity Settings:
- J1 (Sensitivity):
- Bi-curtain mode (BI): Increases false alarm immunity in smaller areas, requiring an intruder to pass through two curtains to trigger an alarm. Not recommended for single curtain applications or ranges under 1.5 m.
- Standard mode (STD): The factory default, used for wide-angle or single curtain applications, requiring an intruder to pass through one curtain.
- J2 (Range):
- 16 m: For detection ranges up to 16 m.
- 10 m: The factory default, for detection ranges under 10 m.
- Range reduction also reduces PIR sensitivity in the undercrawl area.
- Coverage Pattern Selection (Masking):
- The detector comes with adhesive labels and plastic masks (left and right) to customize the mirror curtain coverage pattern. This allows users to mask off unused curtains that might be directed at walls or windows very close to the detector, preventing false alarms.
- A window mask (factory default) can be fitted to the inside of the window when objects are near (within 1.5 m) or directly under the detector. This disables curtains looking down at the object, preventing destabilization from changing temperatures (e.g., drink machines, caged birds) or reflective surfaces.
- Under optimal conditions, the detector's range can be up to 100% higher than stated.
- Walk Test Mode: The detector provides a walk test mode (activated by removing and replacing the front cover) for approximately two minutes to verify proper operation and coverage. During this mode, the front cover LED flashes to indicate an alarm. After the walk test, the detector returns to normal operating mode, supervising every 20 minutes with the LED disabled to conserve battery.
- Low Battery Indication: The control panel will indicate a low battery condition. Users should measure battery voltage; if below 3 VDC, the battery should be replaced.
Maintenance Features
The TX-2211-03-1 is designed for minimal maintenance, providing years of service when installed and used correctly.
- Annual Walk Test: It is recommended to perform a walk test annually to ensure proper operation and coverage.
- Cleaning:
- The interior of the detector should be cleaned with a soft-bristled brush or compressed air to remove dust and dirt.
- The cover can be cleaned with a damp (water) cloth to keep it free of dust and dirt.
- Always test the detector after cleaning.
- Battery Replacement:
- To reset the low battery signal, the old battery must be removed before installing a new one.
- Batteries must be installed with correct polarity.
- Only recommended batteries should be used; using other batteries may pose a risk of fire or explosion.
- Batteries should be disposed of carefully, following battery directive instructions and local laws, and kept away from children.
- After battery installation, the wireless PIR requires two minutes to initialize before operating.
