This document describes the VALBERG 959006 - BITH 60 X 756C extractor fan, also referred to as a hotte aspirante, afzuigkap, or campana extractora. It provides instructions for use, maintenance, and troubleshooting in English, French, Dutch, and Spanish.
Function Description:
The VALBERG extractor fan is designed to remove odors, fumes, and grease from the air during cooking. It can be installed in two main configurations:
- Extraction outdoors (evacuation mode): Air is expelled outside the room through an exterior vent outlet. This requires a non-inflammable, flexible, aluminum, or enamelled hose with an internal diameter of 150 mm.
- Recycling version (recirculation mode): Air is filtered through an activated carbon filter and then recirculated back into the room. This mode is used when an outdoor opening is not available.
Important Technical Specifications:
- Model Number: 959006 - BITH 60 X 756C
- Installation Height: The extractor fan must be installed at a distance of 65-75 cm above the hob for optimum efficacy.
- Ventilation Ducts: Not supplied with the appliance for outdoor extraction.
- Extendable Hose: An optional accessory and not supplied.
- Activated Carbon Filter: Required for recycling version (recirculation mode). The diameter of the activated carbon filter must match that of the outlet.
- Lamp Type: DBR-2-H-120 lightbulb or an equivalent alternative (code ILCOS D, according to standard IEC 61231).
- LED Modules: With integrated ballast.
- Maximum Electrical Power: 2 W
- Voltage Range: 220-240 VAC
- Dimensions: 120 mm
Usage Features:
The extractor fan features mechanical controls for ease of use:
- Lamp Button: Located on the left-hand side of the extractor. This button controls the illumination.
- Speed Button: Located on the right-hand side of the extractor. This button allows selection of different fan speeds:
- «=» : Fast speed
- «-» : Slow speed
- «0» : Off
- Wall Fixing:
- Drill two 8 mm holes in a suitable location, centering them in relation to the back of the extractor fan. These two holes must be horizontally aligned.
- Insert two wall plugs and two 4x30 mm headless screws (screws must not be completely inserted, 2-3 mm must be left protruding to hang the extractor).
- Lift the extractor and hang it on the wall.
- Mark and drill two 8 mm holes in diameter, and insert two safety screws with two wall plugs and two 4x30 mm headless screws. The recommended distance for wall fixing is 450mm between the two top holes.
- Fixing Under a Cabinet:
- Drill four 6 mm holes in diameter under the wall cabinet.
- Install the extractor fan under the wall cabinet and fix it using the four screws provided. The diagram shows a cabinet installation with dimensions: 33mm from the back edge to the screws, 215mm from the back edge to the front edge of the hood, and 450mm width.
Installation (Without an Outdoor Opening - Recycling Version):
- Activated Carbon Filter (Cassette):
- Check that the diameter of the activated carbon filter matches that of the outlet.
- If necessary, remove the pre-fitted diameter adapter.
- Place the activated carbon filter on the outlet, then fix it in place by turning it anti-clockwise.
- Activated Carbon Filter (To Be Cut):
- To install the activated carbon filter, the metal filter must first be removed.
- Open the metal filter, press on the locking mechanism, then pull the filter downwards.
- Place the pre-cut filter above the metal filter. Hold this in position using metal clips (supplied, depending on the model).
- Replace the metal filter in its original position.
- Important Note: Ensure that the filter is fixed correctly; if not, it risks coming loose and causing a danger.
- Recommendation: The installation of a carbon filter reduces the fan's extraction power. It is recommended the extractor fan be turned on for a few minutes before starting to cook. Likewise, it is recommended turning it off 15 minutes after finishing cooking in order to eliminate as much of the odors and stale air as possible.
Maintenance Features:
Always turn off and unplug the appliance before cleaning it.
- Periodic Cleaning: Use a soft cloth, dampened with warm soapy water or household detergent. Do not use a metal pad, abrasive or chemical products/tools, or a hard-bristled brush to clean the appliance.
- Monthly Cleaning of the Grease Filter: ESSENTIAL: Clean the filter every month to prevent a risk of fire. The filter collects the fat, fumes, and dust; it therefore has a direct impact on the efficacy of the extractor fan. If it is not cleaned, the fat residue (potentially inflammable) will block it. Clean it using a household detergent.
- Annual Cleaning of the Activated Carbon Filters: ONLY applicable to the apparatus installed in recycling mode (no air extraction outdoors). This filter traps the odors and must be changed at least once a year, depending on the frequency at which the extractor fan is used.
- With regard to the information for installing and replacing the bulb, refer to the following paragraph of the instructions.
- Use a type DBR-2-H-120 lightbulb or an equivalent alternative (code ILCOS D, according to standard IEC 61231).
- LED modules, with integrated ballast.
