Clutch Adjustment
The multiple-plate oil-bathed clutch requires little adjustment
once set. Adjustment for release with dog engaged, and crutch
handle convenience, is made by clutch adjustment turnbuckle No.2.
Be sure that clutch rod pivot link No.4 works freely, but is
not loose.
The release adjustment is sometimes necessary when the handles
are adjusted for height or row clearance.
If
clutch slips, remove inspection plate No. 11 and tighten clutch
spring nut to increase spring tension. Be sure to replace cotter key
in adjustment nut.
Chain Adjustment
Traction chains should be adjusted so that they have

when they become slack. Adjust by loosening rear axle bolts and
