Luggage compartment
The roof can only be opened if the load
in the luggage compartment does not
exceed the height of the luggage
compartment blind.
The marked load height (see illustration)
must not be exceeded and it must be
possible for the blind to close flat.
Otherwise, the roof or load could be
damaged when the roof is opened.
Operating the TwinTop
Turn key to position 1 in starter switch.
Requirements:
z Vehicle is stationary or being driven
at no more than 20 mph (30 km/h).
z Luggage compartment blind is closed
and engaged (see illustration).
z Boot lid is closed.
If any of the requirements are not
fulfilled, a warning buzzer sounds when
the switch is actuated and the roof does
not open or close.
To open the roof
Place no objects in front of rear window
or in pivot area of roof and boot lid.
Hold button
> in roof console until
the roof is completely open and the boot
lid is closed.
An acoustic signal sounds at the end of
the opening procedure.
Open the windows slightly before
opening the roof. If button
> is
pressed again after the acoustic signal
sounds, the windows will close.
The roof can also be opened with remote
control when the vehicle is stationary.
Unlock the vehicle. Press button q again
and hold until the roof is completely
open and the boot lid is closed.
During operation with the remote
control, the windows are opened
completely.
To close the roof
Place no objects in pivot area of roof and
boot lid. Hold button < in roof
console until the roof and boot lid are
completely closed. An acoustic signal
sounds at the end. Open the windows
slightly before closing the roof. If button
< is pressed again after the acoustic
signal sounds, the windows will close.
The roof can also be closed with remote
control when the vehicle is stationary.
Lock the vehicle. Press button
p again
and hold until the roof and boot lid are
completely closed.
Important information
With TwinTop, a convertible hardtop,
Astra unites the benefits of a coupe with
those of a convertible.
Take care when operating the
convertable hardtop. Risk of injury.
Vehicle passengers must be informed
accordingly.

Monitor the action zone above, to the
side and to the rear of the vehicle roof
during operation. Make sure that nothing
could become trapped or pinched.
Make sure no-one is in the action zone of
the roof or boot lid during roof operation.
Risk of injury.
Check the amount of height, length and
width of available space before
operating the roof, e.g. in a parking
garage or when a bicycle rack is fitted.
Before leaving the vehicle, remove the
ignition key in order to prevent
unauthorized operation of the windows,
sunroof and TwinTop.
