Function Description:
The VAX Rapid Power 2 is a carpet washing machine that effectively cleans carpets, rugs, and upholstery. It uses a combination of water and VAX carpet cleaning solution to loosen and remove dirt and stains. The machine features a trigger-activated spray for applying the cleaning solution and powerful suction to pick up dirty water, leaving carpets cleaner and drier. The SpinScrub brushes provide agitation to deep clean carpet fibers. It offers two cleaning modes: "Quick Clean" for surface cleaning with faster drying times, and "Deep Clean" for a thorough clean. The machine can also be used with a hose and various tools for cleaning upholstery, stairs, tight spots, and pet messes.

Usage Features:
- Assembly: The machine requires simple assembly, involving attaching the handle to the extension pole and then to the main body, and firmly placing the clean water and solution tanks.
- Filling Tanks:
- Solution Tank: Pull up and lift to remove, twist cap anti-clockwise to open, fill with VAX carpet cleaning solution, twist cap clockwise to tighten, then slide and push firmly back into the machine.
- Clean Water Tank: Pull up and lift to remove, twist cap anti-clockwise to open, fill with warm water (max 40°C), twist cap clockwise to tighten, then align and slide firmly back into the machine.
- Operation:
- Power: Plug into mains and press the On/Off pedal.
- Recline: Press the handle release pedal and pull the handle backwards.
- Cleaning Modes: Turn the dial to select "Quick Clean" (for surface cleaning, carpets dry in less than an hour) or "Deep Clean" (for thorough cleaning).
- Solution Application: Squeeze the trigger on the handle to release water/solution.
- Cleaning Strokes: Apply water/solution on the forward stroke and release the trigger on the backward stroke to pick up water/solution. Finish with additional dry strokes (trigger released) for a dryer finish.
- Rinsing: An optional step to extract remaining solution. Remove the solution tank, fill the clean water tank with warm water only, and repeat the cleaning strokes without solution.
- Hose and Tools:
- Connection: Lift the hose connection port cover, firmly push the hose end into the port.
- Tool Attachment: Slide the desired tool (SpinScrub Hand Tool, Pet Tool, Upholstery Wash Tool, Crevice Tool) over the tab at the end of the hose until it clicks.
- Tool Use: Press the trigger on the forward stroke to release water/solution, release on the backward stroke to pick up. Finish with dry strokes.
- Tool Removal: For SpinScrub/Crevice tools, lift the clear plastic clip over the button. For Pet/Upholstery tools, press the button on top of the tool.
- Hose Removal: Press the button underneath the hose and pull.
- Hose Port Cover: Always close the hose connection port cover after use to maintain suction.
- Safety Precautions: Always dry vacuum thoroughly before washing. Test carpets/rugs/upholstery for colourfastness and pile distortion in a hidden area. Do not over saturate. Use only VAX recommended tools and solution. Keep fingers, hair, and loose clothing away from moving parts. Do not use on damaged, uneven, or incorrectly fitted surfaces. Do not use with hot/boiling water. Do not leave plugged in unattended. Do not use if dropped, damaged, or left outdoors. Do not run over or use with a damaged power cord. Do not pick up flammable, combustible, or hot materials. Do not handle plug with wet hands. Do not pull or carry by the power cord. Store in a cool, dry area with empty and clean tanks and filters.
Maintenance Features:
- Emptying and Cleaning Dirty Water Tank: Hold handle and pull to remove. Pull latch to release lid, push down to unhook clip, then lift lid. Empty contents and rinse under warm water (max 40°C). To replace, fit tab on front of lid into tank, hook bottom latch, push top latch up and inwards until it clicks. Push tank into machine until it clicks.
- Cleaning Nozzle: Remove both tanks and tilt machine back. Pull to release nozzle and unhook tabs. Rinse nozzle under warm water (max 40°C). Use the nozzle cleaning tool to remove dirt/debris from edges and corners. To replace, hook tabs on base of nozzle under machine tabs, lower nozzle backwards, and push until it clicks.
- Cleaning Brushes: Remove both tanks and tilt machine back. Push the two brushbar release buttons backwards to unlock. Pull the brushbar to remove. Clear debris/threads/hair and rinse under water. To replace, line up spindle and tabs on back of spin scrub brush with machine and push firmly until it clicks.
- Thermal Cut-out: The machine has a thermal cut-out that activates if it overheats. Switch off, unplug, and check for blockages and clean the dirty water tank filter.
- Storage: Empty and rinse all water/solution tanks and leave to air dry before storage. Ensure filters are thoroughly clean and dry. Do not leave solution stored in tanks between uses.
