Overview

This document is an operating manual for the VC999 07P Vacuum Packaging Machine. It provides comprehensive information on the machine's function, technical specifications, usage, and maintenance.

Function Description

The VC999 07P is a vacuum packaging machine designed to package products in a vacuum, with or without inert gas. The machine operates by placing a product in a vacuum bag on a chamber conveyor. The vacuum chamber lid then closes, and the vacuuming process begins. After vacuuming, the bag is sealed, and the chamber is ventilated, allowing the packaged product to be removed. The machine can be configured for various vacuuming modes, including vacuuming to a set value (for dry products) or vacuuming to the evaporation point (for moist or tempered products). It also supports inert gas flushing (07PN models) to extend product shelf life. The machine features an adjustable platform to accommodate different product heights, ensuring an optimal seal.

Important Technical Specifications

The manual provides detailed technical data for the machine, including electrical connection data, vacuum pump specifications, pneumatic connection requirements, and dimensions.

Electrical Connection (Model to EN 60204-1):

  • 230V/3/50 Hz: 7.5/10/11.5 kW, 40 AT
  • 400V/3/50 Hz: 7.5/10 kW, 25 AT; 11.5 kW, 40 AT
  • 440V/3/60 Hz: 7.5/10/11.5 kW, 25 AT

Vacuum Pumps:

  • Type of pump: 220, 220+W500
  • Vacuum range: 1 mbar, 0.5 mbar
  • Vacuum time to 2 mbar: 15 sec, 10 sec

Pneumatic Connection:

  • Pneumatic consumption: 6-8 bar, 35 SL (standard litre per working cycle)

Dimensions (usable internal dimensions):

  • Chamber width: 950 mm, 180/250 mm
  • Chamber depth: 450 mm
  • Sealing bar length: 3 pcs, 1 x 950 mm, 2 x 450 mm

Weight:

  • Without accessories: 710 kg (2 Pumps), 610 kg (1 Pump)

Continuous Sound Level:

  • To DIN 45635: processing / working place 1, ca. 70 dB(A)

The machine is designed to operate in an ambient temperature range of +10°C to +35°C.

Usage Features

The VC999 07P offers several features to facilitate its use:

  • Programming: The machine has an internal memory for 30 packaging programs. Users can select and adjust parameters for each program, including vacuum set point, vacuum step, vacuum hold time, sensitivity of steaming point, gas flush, intermediate ventilation, sealing time, trimming time, mode of sealing, product height, preventilation, run time conveyor, autostart interval, and number of locked programs.
  • Vacuuming Modes: Three vacuuming modes are available: vacuuming to a set value (for dry products), vacuuming to evaporation (for moist or tempered products), and vacuuming in stages to a set value (for sensitive and porous products).
  • Inert Gas Connection (07PN models): The machine can be connected to an inert gas supply for gas flushing, which helps preserve products. The inert gas connection point is located at the bottom of the machine, with a pressure reducer unit on the gas cylinder.
  • Sealing and Cutting: The machine automatically corrects sealing and cutting times based on heating bar temperature to ensure optimal sealing quality. Various sealing types are available, including all 3 sealing bars, side bars only, front bar only, and counterseal options.
  • Product Height Adjustment: The platform automatically adjusts to the entered product height, ensuring an optimal sealing seam.
  • Preventilation: This feature helps prevent folds in the bag and is suitable for delicate products.
  • Autostart Interval: The delay time after the ending of a cycle until the automatic start of the next cycle can be set.
  • Key Switch: A key switch is used to lock non-locked programs, preventing unauthorized changes.
  • Operating Data: The machine records operating hours, cycle counter, operating hours since last service, operating hours since oil control, and cycles since sealing bar control, which can be accessed through the service settings.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is crucial for the machine's optimal performance and longevity. The manual outlines various maintenance tasks and intervals:

  • Checks (Daily, Weekly, Every Month):
    • Daily: Check vacuum chamber lid, lid seal, and platform.
    • Weekly: Check compressed air service unit (oiler fill level).
    • Every Month: Check lid seal touch and seal, and the complete ejection mechanism for wear.
  • Cleaning (Daily, Weekly):
    • Daily: Clean platform, inside of the vacuum chamber, remove foreign bodies, and clean sealing dirt.
    • Weekly: Clean filters in the vacuum chamber and outer surfaces of the machine.
    • Detergents: Use standard chromium steel detergents.
  • Maintenance Work (Every 2,000 operating hours, 100 operating hours, 4,000 packaging cycles):
    • Every 2,000 operating hours: Preventative maintenance required.
    • Every 100 operating hours: Check vacuum pump and pneumatic oil levels.
    • Every 4,000 packaging cycles: Check seal bars.
  • Service Program: The service program provides access to error diagnosis, initial settings, and test programs for trained personnel. This includes:
    • Vacuum Calibration: Checks the calibration of the analogue/digital converter and the vacuum measuring system.
    • Chamber/Pressure Below Check: Tests the tightness of the vacuum chamber and pressing cushion.
    • Platform Adjustment: Checks and adjusts the platform positioning.
    • Sealing Bar Temperature Check: Verifies the temperature of the sealing bars.
    • EPROM Check: Ensures the contents of the EPROM are correct.
  • Vacuum Pump Maintenance:
    • Rotary Slide Vacuum Pump (Every week): Check oil level, top up oil. (Oil change at least annually or after 500 operating hours).
    • Roots Vacuum Pump (07P... / 220W500) (Every week): Check oil level, top up oil. (Oil change after 5000 operating hours).
    • Suction Filter: Clean or replace the suction filter as needed.
    • Oil Separator Insert: Replace the oil separator insert when particles of dirt obstruct airflow.
  • Replace Fuses: Instructions for replacing fine wire fuses.
  • Replace Electronics Board: Contact customer service for replacement.
  • Ordering Spare Parts: Detailed instructions for ordering spare parts, including required information like machine type, serial number, and part number.
  • Disposal: Guidelines for the proper disposal of the machine, including draining fluids, disposing of hazardous substances, and separating plastic and metal parts for recycling. The machine must be dismantled by a skilled technician.
