TRANSIENT COMMANDS
4. The
screen
will display:
RETURN CP/M VERSION NUMBER [2].5 OR [3].0 (2.5):
Press
2
to
use
earlier
CP/M-based
software,
3
to
use
Vector
4
CP/M-based software.
5. The
screen
will display:
MAKE
SELECTION PERMANENT [YHN1?
Enter
[y]
to
make
the
system come
up
with the new
settings
each time,
[N]
if
you want
the
system
to
come up with
the
original
settings.
The
system
will
go through a warm boot
to
reset
the
operating system for
the
new
settings.
The
STAT
Program
This program
can
be used for:
listing
statistical
information about fUes or disks (ttpassive").
changing
the
status
of disks, devices, or fUes ("active
lf
).
The
STAT
program
can
be called as a single command, or in
conjunction
with
optional
command
lines.
Most
of
these
command lines
fall
into
the
"active"
category, since they allow you
to
change some
aspect
of
the
system.
Chee~
Size And
Storage
You
can
use
the
STAT
program
to
check
the
size
of a fUe, or you
can
use
it
to
check
the
remaining
area
left
on a disk or
diskette.
To check
~e
remaining
area
on
the
currently-logged disk,
enter
the
command:
STAT
[RETURN]
The screen will display:
disk: <A1T>, Space:
Illk
for
each
disk
that
has
been accessed since
the
last
boot.
As
with fUes,
the
<ATT>
column lists the
attributes
of
the
entire disk.
