Note
that
disks cannot be
set
to
$SYS
or $DIR the way files can; however,
it
is possible
to
use
the
STAT
d:
$R/O
command
to
make a disk
or
diskette
read-only. To
set
it
back
to
read and write enabled, use
the
$R/W
option.
You
can also enter
the
command:
STAT
d:[RETURN]

Also,
this
displays
only
the
information
for
the
disk requested, where the
STAT
[RETURN] command displays the information
for
all
drives
which have
been accessed since
the
last
cold boot.
You
can
use
the
STAT command
to
obtain an account of the remaining disk
space available
on
a floppy diskette, in order
to
determine whether or not you
can
fit
more files onto
it.
You
can
also
find
out the
current
user
area
by
entering:
STAT USR:

To
use
STAT
to
check
the
size
and
attributes
of a
file
or range of fUes,
enter the command:
