In
order
for
the
computer
to
fully make use of
the
programs
on
the diskette
or
hard
disk, a particular
set
of instructions called the operatic" system must
be
copied
from
the
disk
into
the computer's memory. This
is
called bootirur

Booting comes from the expression "pulling yourself
up
by
your
bootstraps", since the computer is loading itself with
its
own
instructions.
Booting is important because:
