Overview

This document provides a service manual for the Vestel 466-ELECTRONIC (ICE DISPLAY) appliance, detailing its display and control panel, various operational modes, temperature settings, error messages, and troubleshooting, as well as instructions for changing the door swing direction.

Function Description:

The Vestel 466-ELECTRONIC (ICE DISPLAY) is a refrigerator/freezer appliance with an electronic control panel featuring an ice display. It offers a range of functions to manage cooling, freezing, and energy consumption. The appliance incorporates sensors to monitor temperatures in different compartments and detect various operational issues. It is designed to operate within specific ambient temperature ranges, categorized by climate classes (T, ST, N, SN). The appliance includes a compressor, evaporator, condenser, and fan motors as key components of its refrigerant cycle.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Temperature Settings:
    • Freezer: Adjustable from -16°C to -24°C.
      • -16°C: 1 Bar
      • -18°C: 2 Bar
      • -20°C: 3 Bar
      • -22°C: 4 Bar
      • -24°C: 5 Bar
    • Cooler: Adjustable from +2°C to +8°C.
      • +2°C: 4 Bar
      • +4°C: 3 Bar
      • +6°C: 2 Bar
      • +8°C: 1 Bar
  • Climate Classes and Ambient Temperatures:
    • T: 16 to 43 °C
    • ST: 16 to 38 °C
    • N: 16 to 32 °C
    • SN: 10 to 32 °C
  • Low Voltage Protection: The appliance stops operation if the supply voltage drops below 170V for more than 5 seconds and resumes when the voltage exceeds 180V.
  • Compressor Delay: A 5-minute delay is applied before the compressor starts after power interruption or plugging in, to prevent damage.
  • Defrost Algorithm: Activates after 48 hours of total refrigerator running time or 18 hours of total compressor running time. This can decrease to 12 or 14 hours based on factors like ice formation, door openings, and temperature changes. Defrost ends when the defrost sensor measures 8°C or after 37 minutes, in which case the completion temperature rises to 12°C.
  • Fan Motor Delay: Fan motor starts 3 minutes after the compressor starts.
  • Compressor Coil Ohm (at 25°C ambient temp.): Main coil: 10 Ω, Auxiliary coil: 22 Ω.

Usage Features:

  • Display and Control Panel: Features indicators and bars for Super Freeze (SF) and Super Cool (SC) modes, as well as adjustment indicators for freezer and cooler temperatures. All buttons are touch-operated.

    • Cancellation: Can be cancelled by adjusting freezer temperature or re-selecting SF. Automatically cancels after 24 hours or if freezer sensor temperature drops below -32°C.
  • Super Cool Mode (SC):
    • Purpose: To quickly cool food, store large quantities, or cool drinks.
    • Activation: Press button R until "SC" and its bar light up. If no button is pressed within 1 second, SC and bars flash 3 times with a beep.
    • Operation: Provides enhanced cooling for a brief period, then returns to normal temperature.
    • Cancellation: Can be cancelled by adjusting cooler temperature or re-selecting SC. Automatically cancels after 12 hours or if cooler sensor temperature drops below 0°C.
  • Economy Mode (ECO):
    • Purpose: To operate the fridge economically.
    • Activation: Touch button ECO. ECO symbol flashes, then stays on.
    • Operation: Freezer operates at -18°C, cooler at +4°C.
    • Cancellation: Press button ECO again.
  • Holiday Mode (VACATION):
    • Purpose: For long vacations, especially if the cooler is empty.
    • Activation: Touch button VACATION. VACATION symbol flashes, then stays on.
