Overview

This document describes the VEVOR DX-14VA series under-sink water heater, available in M and S models, with capacities of 10, 15, and 30 gallons. The device is designed to provide hot water for various applications, primarily for under-sink installation.

Function Description

The VEVOR DX-14VA series under-sink water heater is an electrical appliance designed to heat water for domestic use. It operates by heating water stored in an internal tank, providing a continuous supply of hot water. The device features a temperature adjustment knob, allowing users to set the desired water temperature. A heating indicator light signals when the unit is actively heating water. The water heater is intended for indoor installation and should be connected to a reliable electric grounding outlet. It is crucial to ensure the unit is filled with water before turning on the power to prevent damage. The device is not suitable for bathing.

Usage Features

  1. Water Injection: Before initial use or after a long period of inactivity, the water heater must be filled with water. This involves opening all pipeline valves, turning on the hot water tap until water continuously flows, then closing the hot water tap while keeping the cold water pipe valve open to allow for automatic refilling.
  2. Switch on Power: Once filled with water, insert the power plug into a grounded outlet and switch on the power. The power indicator light will illuminate, and the water heater will begin operation according to the temperature control knob setting.
  3. Temperature Regulation: The temperature can be adjusted using the temperature control knob. Turning it clockwise increases the set temperature, while turning it anticlockwise lowers it. The adjustment range is approximately 55 to 145°F. The heating indicator lights up when the water heater is actively heating and turns off when the set temperature is reached, entering a heat preservation state. Setting the knob to "OFF" will prevent the water heater from operating.
  4. Safety Precautions:
    • Always read safety warnings and instructions to prevent electric shock, fire, or injury.
    • The device is not suitable for bathing.
    • Scalding may occur if the temperature exceeds 122°F; hot water must be mixed with cold water before use.
    • Do not pull or plug the power cord with wet hands.
    • Do not operate the appliance without water to prevent damage.
    • Periodically check the T/P valve for unblocked drainage.
    • In cold areas, drain the appliance if not used for a long time to prevent freezing damage.
    • Regularly check for leaks when installed under a sink.
    • Children aged 8 and above, and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, can use the appliance with supervision and proper instruction. Children should not play with the appliance or perform cleaning/maintenance without supervision.
    • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by qualified personnel.

Maintenance Features

  1. Cleaning: The exterior of the water heater should be cleaned with a dry or wet cloth dipped in a neutral cleaner. Avoid using gasoline, other solvents, or spraying water directly onto the unit.
  2. Descaling: Depending on local water quality, descaling is recommended approximately once a month. To descale, first turn off the water heater, close the inlet valve, disconnect the inlet and outlet connections, and empty the inner tank. After descaling, reconnect the pipes.
  3. Draining: For long-term outage or maintenance, cut off the power supply, turn off the inlet water valve, disconnect the inlet and outlet water pipes, and empty the tank by turning it upside down. Reinstall connections. Ensure the inner tank is filled with water before reconnecting power.
  4. Replace Magnesium Anode: The magnesium anode is a sacrificial part that prevents corrosion in the inner tank. It should be checked annually and replaced immediately if it is depleted or nearly depleted to ensure the water heater's service life.
  5. T/P Valve Maintenance: The T/P (Temperature/Pressure) valve, a pressure relief device, must be regularly checked to ensure it is not blocked by calcium carbonate sediment. If blocked, it should be repaired promptly.
  6. General Cautions:
    • Always pull out the power plug before performing maintenance.
    • Disassembly, maintenance, or modification by non-professional personnel is strictly forbidden.
    • Drainage should be performed into a container when the water temperature is below 104°F to avoid scalding.
