Overview

This document is an instruction manual for the VEVOR Cordless Hedge Trimmer, model ET1611.

Function Description

The VEVOR Cordless Hedge Trimmer is designed for trimming hedges, shrubs, and brambles. It is intended for consumer use only. The tool is battery-operated, providing cordless operation for greater mobility. It features a double switch system to prevent accidental starting, requiring the user to push a lock-off button and then press the main switch handle to operate. The swivel handle can be adjusted to five different positions (-60°, -30°, 0°, 30°, 60°) for versatile trimming angles. The length of the hedge trimmer can also be adjusted by approximately 0-400mm.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Model: ET1611
  • Voltage: 20VDC
  • No-load speed: 1200/min
  • Cutting length: 410mm
  • Blade gap: 16mm
  • Battery type: Lithium-ion
  • Battery capacity: 2.0 Ah
  • Charging time: Approximately 4 hours
  • Sound power level (LWA): 102dB

Usage Features

The hedge trimmer is designed for ease of use with several adjustable features:

  • Battery Insertion/Removal: The battery pack is easily inserted and removed by aligning it with a groove and depressing latches.
  • Length Adjustment: The tool's length can be adjusted by unlocking a locker, extending or retracting the handle, and then re-locking it. This allows for reaching different hedge heights.
  • Swivel Handle: The handle can be swiveled to five distinct positions (-60°, -30°, 0°, 30°, 60°) by pushing a lock button and rotating the handle. This feature enables trimming at various angles for optimal shaping.
  • Operation: The tool is operated by pressing a lock-off button and then the main switch handle. It is designed for cutting in either direction using a slow, sweeping action from side to side. Users are advised to stand in a stable and balanced position.
  • Cutting Capacity: The trimmer is suitable for cutting stems and twigs up to 3/4 inch thick. For larger stems, a non-powered hand saw or pruning saw is recommended.
  • Trimming Technique: For new growth, a wide sweeping action is suggested. For older, thicker growth, a sawing movement is more effective. Trimming the sides of a hedge slightly narrower at the top can lead to a more uniform shape.

Maintenance Features

  • Blade Care: Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Regularly check blades for damage and wear. If blades become jammed, stop the motor, allow blades to stop, and disconnect the power source before attempting to remove obstructions. Do not use the machine if blades are damaged.
  • Battery Charging: The battery needs to be charged before first use and whenever power is insufficient. The charger is designed for the specific battery type supplied with the tool. It takes approximately 4 hours for a full charge. The LED indicator on the charger changes from green (ready) to red (charging) and back to green (fully charged). It's important to allow the battery pack to cool down after use before charging.
  • Storage: Store idle power tools out of reach of children. When transporting or storing the tool, always fit the blade sheath.
  • General Maintenance: Maintain power tools by checking for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, and any other condition that may affect operation. Have damaged tools repaired by a qualified person using identical replacement parts.
  • Battery Disposal: Lithium-Ion batteries should not be disposed of with household waste, fire, or water. They should be collected, recycled, or disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner.
  • Charger Care: The charger's plug must match the outlet and should not be modified. Do not expose the charger to water or rain, and do not open or probe it. It is intended for indoor use only.
  • Liquid Ejection from Battery: In case of liquid ejection from the battery, avoid contact. If contact occurs, flush with water and seek medical help if it contacts eyes. Wipe off liquid with a cloth, avoiding skin contact. The battery fluid (potassium hydroxide solution) is harmful; rinse skin immediately with water and neutralize with a mild acid like lemon juice or vinegar. For eye contact, rinse abundantly with clean water for at least 10 minutes and consult a physician.
