Overview

This document describes a shipping scale, model TCS-300A11B, designed for weighing goods with a focus on ease of use and practical features for various commercial applications. The scale is part of the VEVOR "Tough Tools, Half Price" line, emphasizing competitive pricing.

The primary function of this device is to accurately measure the weight of items. Beyond simple weighing, it incorporates several features that enhance its utility in retail or shipping environments where pricing and inventory management are crucial. The scale is equipped with a display that shows weight, unit price, and total price, making it suitable for transactions where goods are sold by weight.

Usage Features:

Preparation and Basic Weighing:

Before operation, the scale requires a simple assembly process involving attaching the instrument to the stand, setting up the stand, rotating the feet to the bracket, and covering the plate. Once assembled, it should be placed on a solid and smooth platform. After connecting to power, the AC indicator lamp should light up, confirming proper connection.

For basic weighing, simply place the goods on the scale plate. The weight indicator window will display the weight. It's crucial not to overload the scale; if "OL" appears with an alarm, the goods should be removed immediately to prevent damage.

Inputting Unit Price and Calculating Total Price:

When weighing goods that are sold by weight, the user can input the unit price using the numerical keyboards (0-9). Once the unit price is entered, the scale automatically calculates and displays the total price in the total price indicator window.

Tare Function:

The tare function is particularly useful when weighing goods in a container. To use this feature, first place the empty container on the scale plate. Then, press the "TARE" button. The weight indicator window will display "000.00", indicating that the container's weight has been zeroed out. Subsequently, when the goods are added to the container, the scale will display only the net weight of the goods.

Add (M+) Function for Multiple Items:

This feature is designed for scenarios where a customer purchases multiple goods with different weights and unit prices. The scale can sum up the total amount for all items. The process involves:

  1. Placing the first item on the plate, inputting its unit price, and observing the total price.
  2. Pressing the "ADD" button. The weight indicator window will show "Add01", and the total price indicator window will display the running total. Then, the first item can be removed.
  3. Repeating the process for subsequent items (placing the item, inputting unit price, observing total price, and pressing "ADD"). The scale can accumulate up to 99 items.

Clear (CLR) Function:

The "CLR" button serves two main purposes:

  1. Under the "Add" condition, pressing "CLEAR" will make the unit price indicator window display "Clr", allowing the user to exit the add condition.
  2. If an incorrect unit price is entered outside of the "Add" condition, pressing "CLEAR" will reset the unit price to "0.00", enabling the user to input the correct price.

Zero Function:

If the weight indicator window displays a value other than "0.000" when no goods are on the scale, pressing the "ZERO" button will reset it to zero, ensuring accurate measurements.

Function (FUN) for Counting:

This button enables a counting function. The steps are:

  1. Press "FUN" to enter sampling mode.
  2. Enter the number of samples.
  3. Place the weight.
  4. Press "FUN" again to end sampling, and the scale will display the count.
  5. To exit the counting mode, press "CLR".

Volt (VOLT) Function for Checking Voltage:

Pressing the "VOLT" button displays the current voltage (e.g., "dc-4.30") in the price window for one second, after which it returns to the weighing display. This is useful for monitoring the battery status.

Dynamic (DYNA) Function for Storing Weight Values:

The "DYNA" feature allows the user to store up to eight weight values. Pressing the "DYNA" key will show "DYNA OFF/ON 0.00" for one second before returning to the weighing display.

Change (CHG) Function for Payment:

This function assists in payment processing:

  1. If the amount is "0", pressing "CHG" enters the change mode.
  2. If the amount is not "0", pressing "CHG" also enters the charge mode.
  3. The user can enter the received amount in the unit price window. If the received amount is greater than or equal to the receivable amount, the change amount will be displayed. Otherwise, "------" will be shown.
  4. Pressing "CHG" again exits the change function, and the window displays "0".

Query (QUERY) Function for Locked Weight Data:

This feature is primarily used to query locked data from the "HOLD" function. It only works when the "HOLD" function is active.

  1. It allows checking a total of eight transaction records, from Hold1 to Hold8, with Hold1 being the first record.
  2. When a query is locked, the weight window will alternately display "LOCK" for about 0.5 seconds, then the locked value. After flashing twice, it switches back to the normal display.

Kilogram/Pound (kg/lb) Toggle:

The scale defaults to kilograms ("kg"). Pressing the "kg/lb" button allows the user to switch between "kg" and "lb" units.

Closing the Scale:

To turn off the scale, first press the "ON/OFF" button, then unplug the power cords.

Maintenance Features:

Environmental Considerations:

The scale is designed for operation within specific environmental conditions. It should be stored in temperatures between -25℃ and +50℃ and operated between 0℃ and +40℃. Storage humidity should be less than 70% RH, and operating humidity less than 90% RH. Adhering to these conditions helps ensure the longevity and accuracy of the device.

Protection Against Damage:

Several precautions are outlined to prevent damage to the scale:

  • Water Exposure: It is strictly prohibited to expose the scale to rain or wash it with water, especially the inner parts, as water can cause significant damage.
  • Moisture and Temperature: The scale should not be placed in moist environments or high-temperature conditions.
  • Impact and Overload: The scale should be protected from crashes and heavy loads. Even when not in use, placing goods exceeding its capacity on the plate is forbidden.
  • Battery Care: If the scale is stored for a long time, it is recommended to charge the battery for 24 hours every 2-3 months to prevent damage.
  • Power Supply: Users must use the alternating current power supply as specified in the operation manual.
  • Wiring: It is crucial to connect the storage battery with the correct wires: red wire to red wire ends, and black wire to black wire ends, to avoid electrical damage.
  • Spare Parts: The storage battery is not considered a free spare part.

By following these guidelines, users can ensure the proper functioning, accuracy, and extended lifespan of their VEVOR shipping scale.
