Do you have a question about the Videology 24C1.3XW and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The Videology 24C1.3XW is an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) OSD (On-Screen Display) camera, designed for integration into various systems requiring high-quality analog video. It features a 1/3" 1.3MP CMOS sensor, delivering 800 TV lines in color and 900 TV lines in black and white. The camera supports both NTSC and PAL scanning systems, with respective scanning frequencies of 15.734 KHz (horizontal) and 59.94 Hz (vertical) for NTSC, and 15.625 KHz (horizontal) and 50.00 Hz (vertical) for PAL. It boasts a signal-to-noise ratio of 52dB (AGC Off, ON) and a minimum illumination of 0.1 Lux in color and 0.01 Lux in black and white. The iris control is electronic/DC auto iris, and the shutter speed ranges from 1/60 to 1/160,000 seconds for NTSC, and 1/50 to 1/160,000 seconds for PAL. The camera operates on a 12VDC +/- 10% power supply.

Function Description:

The camera's functionalities are primarily controlled via an OSD menu, accessible through a built-in joystick or button pad.

  • Lens Settings (4.4 Lens): This section allows configuration of lens settings. For manual Iris lenses, the ELC (Electronic Light Control) mode should be selected. For Iris controlled lenses, ALC (Automatic Light Control) is used. In ALC mode, the camera automatically optimizes lens and shutter control for indoor or outdoor conditions. The MODE setting offers "INDOOR," "OUTDOOR," and "DEBLUR" options. "INDOOR" fixes Iris and shutter values to prevent a "rolling effect." "OUTDOOR" allows flexible Iris and shutter settings to adjust to brightness. "DEBLUR" sets the shutter to fixed values to remove blur.

  • Exposure (4.5 Exposure): This function defines how the Auto Exposure operates. It includes:

    • BRIGHTNESS (0-20): Adjusts the overall picture brightness.
    • SHUTTER (1/30-1/60000): Selects from 14 options for fixed high-speed electronic shutter, ideal for fast-moving objects.
    • SENS-UP (OFF, AUTO, x2-x60): Automatically detects ambient darkness to extend accumulated time, keeping the image bright and sharp.
    • AGC (Automatic Gain Control) (0-20): Amplifies the video signal when it falls below a set parameter. Increasing AGC brightens the screen but also increases noise.
  • White Balance (4.6 White Balance): This function adjusts color temperature.

    • AUTO: White balance works within its color temperature range, computing values from the entire screen.
    • AUTOext: Auto Tracking White Balance adjusts automatically as color temperature changes, suitable for environments with varying light sources (1,800K to 10,500K).
    • PRESET: Sets and maintains the current white balance condition.
    • MANUAL: Allows fine adjustment of R-Gain (Red) and B-Gain (Blue) while monitoring the image color.
  • Backlight (4.7 Backlight): This function helps obtain clear images when a strong backlight is behind the object.

    • BLC (Back Light Compensation): Increases brightness to make dark subjects visible against strong backlights. Submenu allows finer adjustments for H-POS, V-POS, H-SIZE, and V-SIZE to define the position and size of the area of interest.
    • WDR (Wide Dynamic Range): Corrects excessive light within the frame to produce a usable image, making both bright and dark areas distinct. Submenu allows selection of WDR level (MIDDLE, HIGH, LOW). Note that WDR may lead to reduced framerate and "ghost" effects.
    • HLC (High Light Compensation): Suppresses or masks strong light sources (e.g., car headlights at night) to reveal other subjects. Submenu allows finer adjustments for HLC LEVEL (brightness level to mask out) and MODE (ALL DAY & NIGHT ONLY).
  • DNR (4.8 DNR): Improves picture quality by filtering noise generated under low light conditions. Levels can be set to OFF, LOW, MIDDLE, or HIGH.

  • Day & Night (4.9 Day & Night): This function adapts the camera to low light conditions.

    • MODE (COLOR, B/W, EXTERN, AUTO): "COLOR" keeps the camera in color mode. "B/W" keeps it in black and white mode. "EXTERN" activates an external Day & Night connector. "AUTO" switches between DAY and NIGHT modes based on lighting.
    • ANTI-SAT.: Used to obtain clear images when there is strong IR LED light.
    • EXTERN S/W (LOW/HIGH): Used when mode is "EXTERN."
    • AGC THRES (0-20): Executes Day/Night switch based on AGC level. Higher values require a darker image to switch.
    • AGC MARGIN (0-20): Defines the difference between Day/Night and Night/Day switch based on AGC THRES to prevent continuous switching.
    • DELAY (MIDDLE/HIGH/LOW): Sets the delay time for switching between COLOR and B/W.
  • Image (4.10 Image): Optimizes image quality.

    • SHARPNESS (1-10): Adjusts image sharpness. Excessive levels may affect video and generate noise.
    • GAMMA (0.45-0.65): Changes the camera's gamma curve.
    • PEDESTAL (0-20): Adjusts the black level.
    • COLOR GAIN (0-20): Changes the color gain.
    • MIRROR (ON/OFF): Mirrors the image horizontally.
    • FLIP (ON/OFF): Flips the image vertically.
  • Special (4.11 Special):

    • CAM TITLE: Allows writing a character using UP/DOWN and LEFT/RIGHT buttons.
    • D-ZOOM (1.0x-8.0x): Up to x8 bi-cubic linear digital zoom.
    • DWDR (OFF/LOW/MIDDLE/HIGH): Illuminates darker areas while retaining light levels for brighter areas, evening overall brightness in high-contrast images.
    • DEFOG (AUTO/MANUAL/LOW): Improves images in extreme environments like fog or rain with strong luminous intensity.
    • SHADING (ON/OFF): Compensates for shading effects of wide-angle lenses, reducing brightness differences between the center and edges. Submenu allows finer adjustments for WEIGHT (1%-100%).
    • INTELLIGENT:
      • MOTION (ON/OFF): Detects moving objects in the monitored area.
  • DET. SETTING: Includes SENSITIVITY (0-20) for motion sensitivity, OBJ. KEEP LV (0-60) to maintain motion detection with less precision, MOTION EST. (0-21) for motion estimation, and SIGNAL OUT (ON/OFF) for GPIO signal output.

  • WINDOW TONE (0-6): Sets tone of mask area for motion detection exclusion.

  • WINDOW ZONE (0-3): Sets up window zone.

  • WINDOW USE (OFF/ON): Sets up window use.

  • DET H-POS (0-60), DET V-POS (0-40), DET H-SIZE (0-41), DET V-SIZE (0-33): Set up the horizontal/vertical start point and size of the detecting area.

    • ALARM:
  • SHAKING (ON/OFF): Outputs "Camera Shaking!!!" alarm if the camera shakes.

  • SHAKE SCALE (0-20): Shaking detection sensitivity.

  • BRIGHT CHG. (ON/OFF): Outputs "Brightness predict where object appear again" if brightness changes around the camera.

  • BRIGHT SCL. (0-20): Brightness change detection sensitivity.

    • QUICK ZOOM: Registers detected objects in Zoom schedule.
  • MOVING (0-240): Executes Zoom-In/Out as much as set frame value.
