Store the lawn scarifier in a
dry and locked place that is
generally free of dust. Ensure
that the appliance is kept out
of the reach of children.
Only store the lawn scarifier
in good operating condition.
Keep all nuts, pins and bolts
tightly fastened, replace
danger signs and warnings
on the appliance that have
become illegible, check the
entire machine and the
catcher bag (special
accessory – not included in
standard equipment) for wear
and damage. Replace all worn
or damaged parts.
Any appliance faults must be
completely remedied prior to
storage.
10.05 Storage and
winter break
Maintenance interval:
before each use
check scarifier unit (consisting
of the blade shaft, blades,
nuts, washers and spacer
bushings) for wear, firm
seating, cracks or other types
of damage.
Never re-sharpen blades.
Wear check:
Blades must be replaced when
the soil is not scored, even at
the deepest working depth
(level 6).
Blades must always be
replaced as a complete set.
Have defective or worn parts
repaired or replaced by a
specialist dealer.
VIKING recommends that you
have such work performed
exclusively by a VIKING
specialist dealer.
10.04 Scarifying unit
Please note:
Tilt up the front of the lawn
scarifier when carrying out
cleaning or maintenance work.
Before tilting the appliance,
empty the fuel tank, detach
the catcher bag (accessory –
not included in standard
equipment), fold down the
upper handlebar
(a “Assembling the
handlebar”) and lift the
ejector flap.
The ball bearings of the
wheels are maintenance-free.

10.03 Combustion engine
To achieve a long service life,
it is always particularly
important to maintain a
sufficient level of oil and to
change the oil and air filter
regularly.
The recommended oil change
intervals as well as information
on engine oil and filling
quantities can also be found in
the engine instruction manual.
The cooling ribs must always
be kept clean to ensure that
the engine is adequately
cooled.
Risk of injury!
Worn blades can break off
and cause serious injuries.
Maintenance of the blades
must therefore always be
performed as described.
