The lawn scarifier moves
forwards when the
scarifying unit is lowered.
WARNING
Working position:
Bring the scarifying unit
lever (L) into position
and work the lawn in
parallel strips, moving
at an even speed.

10. Maintenance
Risk of injury!
Prior to all
maintenance and
cleaning work prior to
transport, before working on
the lawn scarifier and prior
to storage, always detach
the spark plug socket from
the engine in order to
prevent inadvertent starting.
Always allow the engine to
cool before carrying out
maintenance and cleaning
work.
Risk of injury!
Always wear gloves.
Do not touch the
blades until they have
come to a standstill.
If you do not have the
necessary auxiliary
equipment, a specialist
dealer will be pleased to
assist you.
VIKING recommends that
you have maintenance
operations and repairs
performed exclusively by a
VIKING specialist dealer.
VIKING recommends the
use of genuine VIKING
spare parts.
WARNING
Maintenance interval:
after each use
Clean the appliance
thoroughly each time it has
been used. Care of the
appliance will protect it
against damage and extend
its service life.
If you are unable to remove
the dirt and accumulated
deposits with water, a brush,
a damp cloth or a stick,
VIKING recommends the
use of a special cleaner
(e.g. STIHL special cleaner).
Do not use aggressive
cleaning agents.
Clean the scarifying unit.
Never spray water on engine
components, seals, V-belt or
bearing points. This would
result in expensive repairs.

The engine is equipped with
a fixed throttle adjustment
and always operates at the
optimum working speed.
Manual adjustment is not
necessary.
NOTE
Release the motorstop lever
(J) to stop the engine. The
engine and the scarifying
blades come to a standstill
following a brief run-down
time.
