How to fix Villager WP 8 P that will not start?
- TThomas LarsenAug 5, 2025
If your Villager Water Pump engine won't start, there are several potential causes. First, ensure the fuel valve is in the ON position and the choke is CLOSED (unless the engine is warm). Also, verify that the engine switch is set to ON and that you have sufficient fuel. If the fuel is old, drain the tank and carburetor and refuel with fresh gasoline. Check the spark plug: it might be faulty, fouled, or improperly gapped; adjust or replace it as needed. If the spark plug is wet, dry and reinstall it, then start the engine with the throttle lever in the FAST position. Other potential issues could be a clogged fuel filter, carburetor malfunction, ignition malfunction or stuck valves, which may require replacement or repair.
