The Villeroy & Boch ProActive+ is a WC sensor system designed for touchless and automatic flushing, offering enhanced hygiene and user convenience. It can also be manually operated via a mechanical WC button. The system is intended for use with fresh water only and must be combined with ViConnect cisterns with an overall height of 1120 mm – 1180 mm.
Function Description:
The ProActive+ system allows for both manual, non-contact flushing and fully automatic flushing. Manual flushing is initiated by holding a hand in front of or on the sensor window (hand detection zone) and then removing it. Flushing occurs only after the hand is removed, always triggering a full-flush. If the hand remains in the detection zone for 4 seconds or longer, no flush will take place (timeout).
When the AUTO Flush mode (Single or Dual mode) is enabled, the sensor system automatically flushes as soon as the user leaves the sensor detection zone. An optional radio receiver for the ProActive+ allows flushing to be initiated via a compatible radio transmitter.

- Duration: Adjustable from 10 s to "ON" in ten increments of 10 seconds each (factory setting: 60 s). "ON" means continuous illumination.
- Colour Temperature: Adjustable in five stages from 1 (= cool white) to 5 (= warm white) (factory setting: Level 3).
Usage Features:
The ProActive+ offers flexible operation through two main interfaces: the sensor window and a dedicated smartphone/tablet app.
Operation via the Sensor Window:
- Normal Mode: In normal mode, the cleaning mode can be activated by holding a hand approximately 1 cm in front of the sensor window for 10 seconds until the feedback LED lights up.
- Service Mode: To enter service mode, the system needs to be restarted (power off for at least 15 seconds). In service mode, settings such as AUTO-Flush mode, hygienic-flush function, and factory reset can be selected by holding a hand in front of the sensor window for specific durations (5, 10, or 15 seconds). The feedback LED will blink to indicate the selected setting.
Operation using the App:
The ProActive+ WC controller communicates wirelessly via an integrated Bluetooth adapter with compatible iOS (version 11 or higher) or Android (version 8 or higher) devices. The app allows for comprehensive control and monitoring:
- Settings Adjustment: All available settings, including flush volume, hygienic-flush intervals, AUTO Flush mode, sensor range, automatic pre-flush, cleaning mode duration, and illumination function parameters (brightness, duration, colour temperature), can be easily changed.
- Password Protection: Settings changes require a password. The default password is "vb_proactive+". Users are advised to change it immediately and keep it safe.
- Diagnostics Function: The app provides a diagnostics function to check motor functionality, power supply status, and sensor functionality, offering indications for fault causes.
- User Statistics: The system collects statistical data, which can be viewed via the app. These include total flushes, number of full/half flushes, water consumption (in m³), operating hours since start-up, average flushes over the last 30 days, time since last flush, and time since last hygienic-flush.
Maintenance Features:
- Cleaning Mode: The ProActive+ system includes a cleaning mode that temporarily disables the sensor to allow for cleaning of the WC actuation plate and bowl without accidental flushing. The duration of this mode is adjustable via the app. It can be initiated via the sensor window (if allowed in the app) or directly via the app. Premature termination of the cleaning mode is only possible via the app.
- Factory Reset: All settings can be reset to their factory defaults at any time, either via the sensor window or the app. If the power supply is interrupted, all settings are retained upon restart.
Troubleshooting:
The manual provides a detailed troubleshooting guide for common issues such as the WC not flushing (no power, no water supply, wrong flush mode, sensor module not working) or flushing constantly (hygiene flush activated, sensor range too long, mechanical blockage, power failure). The diagnostics function in the app is a key tool for identifying the cause of faults.
Disposal:
Electronic equipment and batteries should be recycled or disposed of properly, not with household waste. Batteries must be removed from electronic devices before disposal. Local regulations for disposal must be observed.
