Overview

This document provides installation and maintenance instructions for the Vista Professional Outdoor Lighting 2205 Landscape Series Up & Accent Lights. It covers both incandescent and LED versions of the fixture.

Function Description:

The Vista 2205 Landscape Series Up & Accent Lights are designed for outdoor low-voltage landscape lighting applications. These fixtures are used to illuminate specific areas, objects, or architectural features in a landscape, providing both aesthetic enhancement and functional lighting. The "Up & Accent" designation suggests their primary use is to direct light upwards or to highlight particular elements. The design includes an adjustable knuckle, allowing for precise aiming of the light. The fixture is designed for above-ground installation using a ground stake.

Important Technical Specifications:

General Specifications (Applicable to both Incandescent and LED versions):

  • Power Unit Compatibility: For use only with low voltage landscape power units that do not exceed 25 amps and 15 volts maximum.
  • Installation Compliance: Must be installed in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local codes. Failure to comply voids the warranty and may result in serious injury or damage.
  • Safety Warnings:
    • Luminaires can become very hot depending on the lamp wattage used. The lens and metal around the lamp can reach temperatures hot enough to cause blisters. Care should be taken to avoid locating luminaires where small children can reach them if high wattage lamps are used.
    • Not to be installed within 10 feet (3.05 meters) of a pool or spa.
    • Secondary cable is not to be buried more than 6 inches (15.2 cm).
    • When using multiple luminaires, the total load must not exceed the total watts of the transformer rating.
    • Do not use extension cords on power units.
    • Always use UL recognized wire connectors for connections.
    • UL listed for above-ground installation only.
  • Cable Pigtail: Supplied with 36 inches of 18-2 cable pigtail for secure connection to the main supply cable.
  • Cable Burial: Wiring is to be protected by routing in close proximity to the luminaire and buried a maximum depth of 6 inches (15.2 cm) to connect to the main supply cable.

LED Specific Specifications (for LED version):

  • Operating Voltage Range: 6 - 15 volt AC.
  • Electronic Driver: The Vista electronic driver ensures the LED operates at the intended lumen output even with voltage variations (as low as 6 volts and as high as 15 VAC), resulting in a balanced lumen output across multiple fixtures and mitigating dimness issues caused by voltage drop.
  • Voltage Range Variation: Operating voltage range for LED luminaires may vary depending on the model, style, and total number of LEDs. Users are advised to consult the factory's specification sheet and/or installation instructions for specific details.

Usage Features:

Installation (Common to both Incandescent and LED versions):

  1. Safety First: Disconnect the transformer from the electrical supply before any installation or service.
  2. Wire Routing: Run the wire pigtail from the luminaire through the mounting hole in the top of the ground stake.
  3. Fixture Attachment: Thread the luminaire into the threaded hole in the ground stake.
  4. Stake Placement: Insert the ground stake into the desired position until its flange is flush with the grade.
  5. Electrical Connection: Strip two leads from the luminaire pigtail. Use the two provided silicone-filled safety connectors to connect the luminaire leads to the main supply cable leads.
  6. Power-Up: Provide power to the luminaire and check for proper operation.
