30. JOINT DISEASES, ARTHRITIS, ARTHROSIS, RHEUMATIC
POLYARTHRITIS
Treatment course consists of 3 stages. The first and the second stages are preparative
ones, the third is the basic one.
The first stage of treatment should be performed in accordance with the scheme 27,
duration of the first stage – 14 days.

The second stage of treatment should be performed in accordance with following
schemes:
– for treatment of lower extremities joints according to the scheme 4, duration of the
stage is 10 days.
– for treatment of upper extremities joints according to the scheme 1, duration of the
stage is 10 days.
The third stage of treatment – treatment of the joint affected - should be performed in
accordance with the scheme 38. Treatment should be performed at the zones К, Е3 and
Е31 (if leg joints are affected) or at the zones К, D2 and Е1 (if arm joints are affected).
In both cases, affected joint should be treated separately. Vibrophones are applied to a
joint at its most flat part at an angle of approximately 90
о
to each other (see picture 2).
A patient should lie supine. Before the procedure, a joint should be treated with an
anti-inflammation agent. If you apply iodine solution, keep in mind that it can be used
once a day, right before the start of treatment and only if there are no traces of previously
applied iodine on the skin.
