  Batter may stick to the baking plates for a couple of reasons. It could be that you didn't spread a thin layer of oil on the baking plates before baking. Spreading a thin layer of oil before baking could solve the problem. Alternatively, if you've used the appliance continuously for a long time, the plates might need to be replaced.
