Device Description

The VITEK VT-1820 is a vacuum cleaner equipped with several components for efficient dry cleaning. It features a flexible hose (7) with a handle (6) and an ending with clamps (8) for easy attachment to the air inlet (9). The telescopic extension pipe (4) has a clamp (3) for length adjustment.

For cleaning different surfaces, the vacuum cleaner comes with a floor/carpet brush (2) with a "FLOOR/CARPET" mode switch (1). Additional attachments include a combined brush/crevice nozzle (18) and a furniture brush (19). These attachments can be stored in a dedicated compartment (20).

The main unit includes an On/Off button (13), a suction power control (14), and a manual suction power control (5) on the hose handle for adjusting cleaning intensity. A power cord (17) with a winding button (15) is provided for convenient storage. The dustbag compartment has a lid (12) with a clip (10) and a full dustbag indicator (16). The vacuum cleaner uses either disposable paper dustbags (21) or a reusable cloth dustbag (22).

Safety Measures

Before using the vacuum cleaner, it is crucial to read and understand all safety instructions to prevent fire, electric shock, or injury.

  • Ensure the mains voltage matches the unit's operating voltage.
  • Do not use adapters for connection.
  • Never leave the plugged-in vacuum cleaner unattended. Always unplug it before changing attachments or performing maintenance.
  • Do not use the vacuum cleaner outdoors or for collecting water or other liquids.
  • Carry the vacuum cleaner only by its carrying handle (11).
  • Avoid using the power cord to carry the unit, closing doors on it, or letting it contact sharp edges or hot surfaces. Do not run over the power cord with the vacuum cleaner.
  • Always switch off the unit with the ON/OFF button (13) before unplugging. Pull the plug, not the cord.
  • Do not touch the plug or the vacuum cleaner body with wet hands.
  • Hold the winding cord to prevent the plug from hitting the floor.
  • Do not cover the unit's outlet or switch it on if any openings are blocked.
  • Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and other body parts away from the air inlets.
  • Exercise caution when cleaning stairs.
  • Do not use the vacuum cleaner to collect highly flammable liquids (e.g., gasoline, solvents), water, burning/smoking items (cigarettes, matches, cinders), or fine dust (e.g., plaster, concrete, flour, ashes).
  • Do not use the vacuum cleaner if the dustbag or filters are not installed or installed improperly.
  • Do not immerse the unit body in water or other liquids.
  • Use only supplied accessories and attachments.
  • Clean the vacuum cleaner regularly and store it in a dry, cool place.
  • Do not use the vacuum cleaner to clean pets.
  • Supervise children and disabled persons near the operating unit.
  • This unit is not intended for use by children or persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities without supervision or instruction.
  • Do not allow children to play with the unit or with polyethylene bags/packaging film due to the risk of suffocation.
  • Regularly check the power plug and cord for damage. If damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or qualified personnel.
  • Do not attempt to repair the unit yourself. Contact an authorized service center for malfunctions or after dropping the unit.
  • Transport the unit in its original packaging.
  • Keep the unit out of reach of children and disabled persons.
  • The unit is for household use only; commercial use and use in production areas are prohibited.

Usage Features

Assembling the Vacuum Cleaner:

  • After transportation or storage at low temperatures, keep the unit at room temperature for at least three hours before switching on.
  • Unpack the unit, remove promotional stickers, and check for damages.
  • Ensure your home mains voltage matches the unit's operating voltage.
  • Always switch off and unplug the vacuum cleaner before changing attachments or replacing the dustbag.

Attaching and Removing the Flexible Hose:

  • Insert the flexible hose ending (8) into the air inlet (9) until the clamps lock.
  • To remove, press the clamps and detach the hose.

Attaching the Telescopic Pipe and Attachments:

  • Attach the telescopic extension pipe (4) to the flexible hose handle (6).
  • Extend the lower part of the telescopic extension pipe to the desired length by pressing the clamp (3).
  • Select the appropriate attachment (floor/carpet brush (2), furniture brush (19), or combined crevice nozzle brush (18)) and attach it to the telescopic extension pipe (4).
  • Attachments (18, 19) can also be attached directly to the flexible hose handle (6).

Using Brush Attachments:

  • Floor/Carpet Brush (2): Set the switch (1) to the desired position based on the surface being cleaned.
  • Combined Brush/Crevice Nozzle (18): Use as a dust brush or crevice nozzle by setting the brush to the necessary position.
  • Furniture Brush (19): Use for cleaning furniture upholstery.

Dustbags (21, 22):

  • The vacuum cleaner comes with one reusable cloth dustbag (22) and three disposable paper dustbags (21).
  • Dispose of the paper dustbag (21) when it is full.

Operating the Vacuum Cleaner:

  • Before use, unwind the power cord (17) to the required length (up to the yellow mark, but not beyond the red mark) and insert the plug into the mains socket.
  • Press the ON/OFF button (13) to switch on the vacuum cleaner.
  • Adjust suction power using the power control (14) on the main unit and the manual suction power control (5) on the flexible hose handle (6).
  • After cleaning, switch off the vacuum cleaner with the ON/OFF button (13) and unplug it.
  • To rewind the power cord (17), press the power cord winding button (15), guiding the cord with your hand to prevent whipping and damage.
  • Remove sharp objects from the floor before cleaning to prevent damage.
  • If suction power rapidly decreases, switch off the unit, unplug it, and check the telescopic pipe (4) or flexible hose (7) for obstruction. Remove any obstruction before resuming cleaning.

Maintenance Features

Cleaning and Care:

  • When the full dustbag indicator (16) turns red, replace the paper dustbag (21) or clean the cloth dustbag (22).
  • Cleaning the Cloth Dustbag (22):
    • Switch off and unplug the vacuum cleaner.
    • Open the dustbag compartment lid (12) by pressing the lid clip (10).
    • Remove the dustbag (22) with its holder.
    • Take the dustbag (22) out of the holder.
    • Place the cloth dustbag (22) over a trash bin and remove the plastic clamp. If necessary, wash the cloth dustbag with warm water and neutral detergent, then dry thoroughly before reinstalling the plastic clamp.
    • Install the dustbag (21 or 22) into the holder.
    • Install the holder with the dustbag into its place.
    • Close the dustbag compartment lid (12) by pressing it slightly until it locks (10).
    • Do not attempt to close the lid without the dustbag holder installed, as this may damage the locking system.
    • Always ensure the dustbag holder and dustbag are properly installed before closing the lid.

Filter Cleaning:

  • Keep the outlet HEPA filter clean for optimal vacuum cleaner performance. Clean the filter at least 3-4 times a year, or more often if severely obstructed.
  • Cleaning the Outlet HEPA Filter:
    • Switch off and unplug the vacuum cleaner.
    • Remove the outlet filter grid by pressing the lock, then remove the HEPA filter.
    • Wash the HEPA filter under a stream of slightly warm water. Do not wash in a dishwasher.
    • Dry the HEPA filter thoroughly. Do not use a hairdryer.
    • Install the HEPA filter back into its place, then reinstall the outlet filter grid.
    • Ensure the HEPA filter is clean and dry before installation.

Vacuum Cleaner Body:

  • Wipe the vacuum cleaner body with a soft, slightly damp cloth, then wipe it dry.
  • Do not immerse the vacuum cleaner body, power cord, or plug in water or other liquids. Prevent liquid from entering the body.
  • Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners for the vacuum cleaner body or accessories.

Storage:

  • Before long-term storage, clean the body, the cloth dustbag (22), and the filters.
  • Use the special compartment (20) in the upper part of the vacuum cleaner for easy storage of attachment brushes (18 and 19). Press the lid (20) to open and close the compartment.
  • The vacuum cleaner can be stored both vertically (pic. 2) and horizontally (pic. 1).
  • Keep the unit out of reach of children and disabled persons.

Recycling

  • For environmental protection, do not dispose of the unit or batteries (if included) with regular household waste after their service life expires. Take them to specialized centers for recycling.
  • Waste generated during disposal is subject to mandatory collection and disposal.
  • Contact local municipal administration, disposal services, or the store of purchase for more information on recycling.
