Overview

This document describes the Arm Blood Pressure Monitor, Model ZK-B869 (H358), an oscillometric device designed for home use to measure systolic and diastolic blood pressure and pulse rate in adults.

Function Description:

The ZK-B869 is an upper arm blood pressure monitor that automatically inflates, deflates, and measures blood pressure and pulse rate using the oscillometric technique. It is intended for daily monitoring of blood pressure and is not a diagnostic device for hypertension. Users can select between mmHg or kPa units for blood pressure display. The device features a memory function to store measurement data and can also provide voice broadcast of results.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Model: ZK-B869
  • Measurement Method: Oscillometric method
  • Measurement Range:
    • Pressure: 0-295 mmHg (0-39.9 kPa)
    • Pulse: 40-195 beats/min
  • Accuracy:
    • Pressure: ±3 mmHg (±0.4 kPa)
    • Pulse: ±5%
  • Power Source: 4 AAA dry batteries (DC6V). An AC adapter (DC 5V/500mA) and Micro-USB cable (not provided) can also be used.
  • Battery Life: Approximately 300 measurements (using 4 new AA alkaline batteries, once a day, no more than 2 minutes each time). Note: The manual mentions both AAA and AA batteries for the ZK-B869 model; clarification may be needed.
  • IP Classification: IP22 (Protected against solid foreign objects of 12.5 mm and greater; Protected against vertically falling water drops when enclosure tilted up to 15°).
  • Cuff Circumference: 22cm-32cm
  • Weight (excluding batteries): Approximately 220g
  • Dimensions (LWH): 115 X 96 X 59mm
  • Memory: 2 sets of 99 measurements each (User 1 and User 2).
  • Software Version: V1.2
  • Operating Environment:
    • Temperature: 5°C~40°C
    • Humidity: 15%~80%RH
    • Air pressure: 70kPa~106kPa
  • Storage and Transport Environment:
    • Temperature: -20°C~55°C
    • Humidity: 10%~93%RH
    • Air pressure: 50kPa~106kPa
  • Fuse: 63Vdc/1A quick fuse.

Usage Features:

  • User ID Selection: Supports two users (User 1 and User 2) for storing individual measurement data.
  • Date & Time Setting: Allows users to set the current year, month, day, hour, and minute.
  • Display Unit Setting: Option to switch between mmHg and kPa for blood pressure readings.
  • Voice On/Off Setting: Enables or disables the voice broadcast function for measurement results.
  • Memory Function: Stores up to 99 measurement results for each user, with the oldest result being deleted when the 100th result is saved. Users can cycle through stored data.
  • Irregular Heartbeat Detection: Displays a symbol if an irregular rhythm is detected during measurement (defined as a rhythm 25% less or more than the average). Consultation with a GP is recommended if this symbol appears.
  • Blood Pressure Level Indicator: Provides a visual indicator based on WHO/ISH blood pressure classification.
  • Battery and Power: Operates on 4 AAA dry batteries. Can also be powered by an external DC 5V/500mA adapter via a Micro-USB cable (not included). Low battery symbol indicates when batteries need replacement.
  • Measurement Procedure:
    • Ensure the arm cuff is correctly attached to the left upper arm, 2-3cm above the elbow, with the tube straightened and the middle finger in the same extension line.
    • Sit comfortably with back and arm supported, feet flat on the floor, and the cuff at heart level.
    • Avoid stimulants, exercise, bathing, and smoking for 1 hour before measurement. Rest for at least 10 minutes before the first measurement, and 3 minutes between subsequent measurements.
    • Remain still and do not talk during measurement.
    • Press the Start/Stop button to initiate automatic inflation, measurement, and display of results.
  • Error Messages: The device displays specific error codes (Er1 to Er7) for issues such as abnormal sensor signals, no blood pressure values, abnormal results, no inflation, fast inflation, excessive pressure interference, or pressure exceeding limits, with corresponding solutions provided.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry, or moistened cloth with neutral soap to clean the monitor and arm cuff. Avoid abrasive cleaners, gasoline, thinner, or similar solvents. Do not immerse the device in water.
  • Storage: Store the unit and cuff in the provided storage bag in a clean, safe location, away from high temperatures, moisture, direct sunlight, dust, corrosive gases, and excessive vibration or impact. Unplug the air plug from the air jack and gently keep the tube in the cuff without folding.
  • Battery Handling: Remove batteries if the device will not be used for three months or more to prevent leakage. Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not use rechargeable batteries in this device as it does not support charging.
  • Calibration: The device's accuracy is tested, and annual inspection and calibration by a qualified technician are recommended. Users should not attempt to calibrate or repair the device themselves.
  • Preventive Inspection: Recommended once a month or less to check the device's function, appearance, cuff integrity, and ability to turn on normally. Periodically test for safety, including leakage current.
  • Service Life: Expected service life of 5 years.
  • Disposal: Dispose of used equipment, parts, and batteries according to applicable local regulations. Packaging should be recycled where possible. The product itself, at the end of its lifespan, should be disposed of at an authorized household waste recycling centre.
