Wearing the headset with the Vive Deluxe Audio Strap involves a straightforward process designed for ease of use and comfort. Before putting on the headset, users should loosen the strap. This is achieved by rotating the adjustment dial counter-clockwise. It's crucial to avoid forcing the dial, as it should rotate easily unless it has reached its limit, to prevent damage to the strap. Once the strap is loosened, the user can put on the headset. After the headset is in place, the strap is tightened by rotating the adjustment dial clockwise until a comfortably snug fit is achieved. This ensures the headset remains stable during use and the integrated earphones are properly positioned.
The earphones themselves offer multiple adjustment options to optimize audio delivery and comfort. Users can pull each earphone up or down to adjust its height, allowing for precise alignment with their ears. After adjusting the height, the earphones can be twisted to achieve a comfortable position over the ear. To secure them in place, users should press down on the earphones until they hear a distinct click, indicating that they are fixed. Replacing the earphones involves reversing these steps. First, the new earphones are attached and screwed into place on the Vive Deluxe Audio Strap using the Phillips Pan Head Screw (dimensions: 5-6.5 mm length, min. 3 mm; 4-6.5 mm head diameter; 0.5-1.5 mm thread pitch; 1.6 mm head height). The screwdriver type remains a cross-shaped PH00x40.
Next, the earphone wire needs to be fixed in place. On the left side of the strap, the wire is secured on a designated clip. Then, plastic holders are pressed into their corresponding slots on both ends of the strap, further securing the earphone wire. The earphone wire is then aligned and inserted along the clips on the base of the strap, ensuring it is neatly routed and protected.
Finally, the cushion is reattached. This involves inserting the tabs on the cushion into the corresponding slots on the base of the strap, ensuring it is securely fastened and provides the intended comfort. This detailed process for earphone replacement ensures that users can maintain their Vive Deluxe Audio Strap, extending its lifespan and ensuring continued optimal performance.
