Overview

This document describes the VIVOHOME Electric Deep Fryer, model number VH1118, designed for frying various food items.

Function Description

The VIVOHOME Electric Deep Fryer is a kitchen appliance used for deep frying. It features an electric heating tube to heat oil, controlled by a thermostat and a timer. The device includes indicator lights for power (green) and heating (red) to provide visual feedback on its operational status. A temperature limiter is incorporated for safety, automatically cutting off power if the oil temperature exceeds a pre-set limit (460°F). The fryer is designed to maintain the oil temperature within a selected range through repeated heating cycles. It comes with a special basket for frying small pieces of food, which can be hung on the machine to filter oil after frying. For larger food items, they can be placed directly into the pot. A cover is provided to keep the device warm and clean.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Item Name: Electric Deep Fryer
  • Item Number: VH1118
  • Voltage: AC110V
  • Frequency: 50Hz-60Hz
  • Max Power: 2.5kW+2.5kW
  • Dimensions: 22 x 17.3 x 12.2 in. (56 x 44 x 31cm)
  • Socket Requirement: 16A socket
  • Grounding: Requires a grounding bolt at the back connected to a copper core wire of no less than 2.5mm²
  • Temperature Range: 140 to 400°F
  • Overheat Protection: Activates at 460°F

Usage Features

The fryer offers both timed and continuous operation modes.

Starting the Fryer:

  1. Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a suitable 16A socket.
  2. Maintain the oil level between the MIN and MAX lines in the oil pans.
  3. Align both the TIME and temperature knobs to the OFF position.
  4. Insert the power cord plug; the green POWER indicator light will turn on, indicating power supply.
  5. To begin heating, turn the TIME knob to the ON position and rotate the temperature knob clockwise to the desired temperature. The red HEATING indicator light will illuminate, signifying that the electric heater is active and the oil is heating up.

Timer Operation:

  • To use the timer, turn the TIME knob to the desired time. The timer will count down and sound when the set time is reached, automatically returning the knob to the OFF position and stopping heating.

Continuous Operation:

  • For continuous frying, turn the TIME knob to the ON position. Heating can be manually stopped by rotating the TIME knob to OFF when frying is complete.

Temperature Control:

  • During cooking, the thermostat automatically cuts off heating when the oil reaches the set temperature, turning off the red HEATING indicator light. When the temperature drops slightly, the thermostat reactivates the heater, and the red indicator light turns on again, ensuring the oil temperature remains within the selected range.

Safety Precautions during Use:

  • Always ensure the cover is free of water before placing it on the pot to prevent hot oil from splashing.
  • The special basket can be used for frying small food pieces; it has a hanger and handle for easy placement and oil filtering. For larger items, place them directly into the pot.
  • After cooking, always turn both the TIME and temperature knobs to the OFF position and unplug the device for safety.
  • Allow the oil to cool to room temperature before attempting to pour it out.

Maintenance Features

Cleaning:

  • After the oil has cooled, remove the basket and back plate.
  • The control box can be removed or turned over (with the heating tube upright) to facilitate cleaning of the oil pot.
  • Regularly clean oil, grime, and residue from the electric heating tube.
  • The back plate must be properly installed in the oil pot before frying to protect the heating tube.

Troubleshooting and Resetting the Temperature Limiter:

  • The fryer is equipped with a RESET protection button for overheating. If the green POWER indicator light is on, but the red HEATING indicator light does not turn on and the temperature does not rise after setting, it indicates the temperature limiter may have activated.
  • To reset:
    1. Wait 10 minutes for the temperature to cool down.
    2. Twist the black RESET lid on the panel counter-clockwise and open it.
    3. If a small black button inside protrudes about 5mm, press it to reset.
    4. Twist the lid back to its original place.

General Maintenance:

  • Before each use, check that all wiring is tight, the operating voltage is correct, and the outlet is reliably grounded.
  • Ensure the machine's shell is properly attached for safe operation.
  • Do not use extension cables with this machine.
  • In case of issues like the green indicator light not turning on, blown fuses, loose wiring, burnt-out heating tubes, or a faulty thermostat, refer to the troubleshooting guide for solutions such as tightening connections, replacing components, or resetting the temperature limiter.
