If your VIZIO HDTV's power is on but the screen is black, ensure the VIZIO logo glows white, indicating power. Check that all cables connected to your HDTV are correctly attached to the output of your external device and that the external device is powered on. You may also need to adjust the brightness, contrast, or backlight settings. Also, press the INPUT button to select the correct input source. If the issue persists, perform a power cycle by removing the AC power cable from the back of your television for 30 seconds, then reinsert it and power on the television.

Why won't my Vizio HDTV remote work?
    • M
      Michael LopezAug 23, 2025
If your VIZIO HDTV remote control isn't working, make sure you are pointing it directly at the remote sensor on the TV (IR mode only) and that there are no obstructions between the remote and the sensor. Try replacing the batteries with new ones. If your remote has a keyboard, it needs to be Bluetooth paired to your VIA television to function correctly. Bluetooth pairing improves response and performance.

How to fix wrong colors on Vizio M421VT HDTV?
    • C
      connor73Aug 26, 2025
If your VIZIO HDTV displays wrong or abnormal colors/patterns, start by checking the color and tint settings in the Picture Menu. You can also reset the Picture settings to default in the Picture Menu. Next, check the video settings and compatibility of any external devices. Also, check the video cables of external devices to ensure they are securely connected at both ends and try another device on the same input. If you are using an antenna, the signal strength of the channel may be low. Make sure your antenna is connected securely to the TV and move the antenna to an alternate location in the room or close to a window. If the issue persists, perform a power cycle by removing the AC power cable from the back of your television for 30 seconds, then reinsert it and power on the television.

      Mallory SmithAug 30, 2025
If your VIZIO HDTV has no power (VIZIO logo is off), ensure your AC power cable is securely connected to the back of the television and the wall outlet. Try plugging another electrical device into the outlet to verify it's working correctly. You might also try another electrical outlet in your home, preferably on a different circuit. As a last resort, try another AC power cable; any standard 3-prong, grounded, UL-approved computer power cable can be used.
